After the first day of settling down at their accommodation, the Vietnamese women's team began their training upon returning home. While in the morning Huynh Nhu had to practice separately due to some minor health issues, in the afternoon session, the captain of the Vietnamese women's team was able to warm up with the team.
The team's training ground is the Viet Tri secondary field, located in the Phu Tho Province Sports Complex. According to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), coach Mai Duc Chung's players are in a confident and relaxed state of mind. After the warm-up, the team split up to practice against each other as usual.
The group of rookies and young players showed confidence and quickly integrated into the team, notably Vietnamese-American midfielder Nguyen Hoang Nam Mi. This is the first time Nam Mi has been called up to the national team. Through her training in Japan, she is expected to bring a new breeze to the playing style of the Vietnamese women's team.
At the end of the training session, coach Mai Duc Chung had the players practice finishing and relaxing. The Vietnamese women's team will have about 9 days, 13 training sessions, to improve their physical strength, technique and tactics before entering the opening match of Group E qualifying round against Maldives at 7pm on June 29.
After the match against Maldives, the Vietnamese women's team will play against the UAE and Guam on July 2 and July 5 respectively. The winner of Group E of the qualifying round will qualify for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup finals in March next year.
