Inspiring the Aspiration to develop a rich, beautiful, civilized and humane province

Joining the 100-year flow of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism , in the province, the team of journalists with the weapon of an extremely "sharp" "pen" have fought steadfastly on the ideological and cultural fronts, fulfilling the mission of mobilizing, propagating, and rallying the masses in the resistance war against French colonialism and American imperialism, proudly accompanying the Party, government and people to overcome the consequences of the war, exploiting the potential of Dong Thap Muoi, maintaining the southwestern border of the Fatherland, making breakthroughs in the journey of innovation as well as the process of industrialization, modernization and international integration.

Especially in recent times, in both favorable and difficult times, press agencies and press forces in the province have performed quite well the requirements and set goals; thereby, Long An press continues to affirm its important position and role on the ideological work front, being a trusted forum for all classes of people; demonstrating the role of a "bridge" between the Party, the State and the People.

Press activities focus on disseminating deeply, widely, with a focus on key issues, outstanding events, urgent and important tasks of the locality, contributing to bringing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws into life. For complex, sensitive and urgent issues that a large number of cadres, party members and people of all walks of life are interested in, the press is always proactive, timely, fully and accurately reflecting, orienting internal and public opinion, creating consensus on awareness and action within the Party and among the people to successfully carry out the task of local socio-economic development, contributing to making Long An province rise to the leading position in the Mekong Delta and become a fairly developed and dynamic province in the Southern Key Economic Zone.

The highlight of the 2020-2025 period is the pioneering, proactive, and fearless spirit of the press force on the front line against the Covid-19 pandemic - a war full of hardships, losses, and unprecedented. Next is the very effective information and propaganda work on the economic recovery and development period after the pandemic, focusing on the implementation of breakthrough programs and key projects according to the Resolution of the 11th Provincial Party Congress; on the Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period; on Party building and rectification work; on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and style; especially the "two revolutions" on arranging and streamlining the apparatus of the political system, on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation.

During the process of operation and development, the province's press agencies, magazines, and electronic information pages have constantly improved and innovated in a professional and modern direction in both form and content of propaganda; increased the quantity and diversity of programs, columns, pages, and topics; improved the quality of news and articles; and increasingly better met the requirements and political tasks of the locality.

Especially in April, the merger of Long An Newspaper with Long An Radio and Television marked a new beginning full of determination and effort in the journey of development, innovation, organization and improvement of the efficiency of the provincial press in the new revolutionary period.

At the same time, the team of journalists in the province has developed rapidly in terms of quantity and quality. Political level and professional skills have been increasingly improved; maintaining the quality and ethics of a true journalist. Many journalists have received basic training, access to modern and multimedia means of journalism, actively contributing to the stability and development of press agencies.

Many new and creative ideas in journalism methods have been born from the dynamic working practices of the past time. Since then, the team of journalists has created many valuable journalistic works, deeply and widely influencing people's lives; in particular, there are works that have won high awards in national journalism awards, central specialized journalism awards, bringing prestige and honor to the provincial journalism community.

The press continues to innovate comprehensively and develop to be worthy of a dynamic locality in the era of national growth.

Currently, in the new revolutionary period - the period when the country enters the era of striving to develop richly and prosperously, following the era of independence, freedom, building socialism and the era of innovation, the activities of the Vietnamese revolutionary press in general, and the press of Long An province in particular, are facing great opportunities and great challenges.

On the basis of the country's and province's strongly developing economy, the people's intellectual level improving, and the increasingly rich and diverse material and spiritual life, the Party and State will always attach importance to and create conditions for the press to continue to develop more strongly.

In addition, with the rapid development of information technology and communication, the competition between different types of journalism, between newspapers in the province and outside the province, domestic and foreign newspapers will become increasingly fierce. To meet the requirements of development and integration, more than ever, the press must have a firm political stance, must strive to constantly innovate; must clearly identify the new era opening before our eyes as the era of people who know how to commit, act and serve; is the era in which the intelligence, talent, ethics and efforts of journalists need to be promoted most strongly.

In the coming time, the team of journalists needs to thoroughly and deeply grasp the viewpoint that journalism is a sharp weapon, an effective tool of the Party on the ideological front; each journalist is a revolutionary soldier; journalism is a noble and sacred profession; revolutionary journalists must have a revolutionary spirit, that is, the spirit of attack, fighting to eliminate the wrong and the bad, protecting the right and the good, for the common cause of the country and the people.

Journalists need to strive to improve their knowledge, study theory, penetrate practice and stay close to the people; constantly cultivate and practice to improve professional ethics, master their profession, and meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.

The provincial press needs to effectively contribute to the formation of healthy public opinion; build the mettle, intelligence, soul, and spirit of the Vietnamese people in the new era; contribute to encouraging and creating the strength of solidarity, unity, and social consensus.

Press information must be highly topical, healthy, practical, orienting public opinion, resolutely eliminating news and articles that negatively affect ideology, emotions, and social life. In particular, it is necessary to promote the spirit of proactive attack, always be alert, vigilant, have more sharp, frequent articles, and have higher persuasive power to fight against wrong notions, and defeat all "peaceful evolution" plots of hostile forces.

It is necessary to thoroughly understand the viewpoint that revolutionary press is not just a pure means of information, and certainly not a mere entertainment tool, but it has the function of propagating, agitating, gathering and organizing the masses to fight for revolution, educating and guiding the actions of social classes.

In particular, the provincial press now needs to focus on deeply, widely, regularly and continuously propagating the "revolution" in arranging and streamlining the apparatus of the political system, the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term and the breakthrough resolutions of the Politburo.

Information and propaganda work must be creative and effective, create consensus and arouse the spirit and will of "dare to think big, act big, carry out major reforms with the highest political determination and most persistent efforts" of the entire Party, people and army in deploying and implementing resolutions.

In addition, in the face of the development trend of modern journalism today, the issue of improving the quality of management, organizing editorial offices, and developing types of journalism for press agency leaders needs to be paid attention to and focused on. Press agencies must properly implement the principles and purposes, closely follow the political tasks of the Provincial Party Committee; especially, continue to resolutely implement the streamlining according to the Central's orientation.

It should be clearly understood that the press propagates to create social consensus on the "revolution" of streamlining the apparatus, so the press must be a pioneer and resolute in thoroughly implementing the streamlining of the apparatus organization associated with breakthroughs, application of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in its own system and activities to aim at building a professional, modern press, proudly following the 100-year tradition of Vietnam's revolutionary press.

At the same time, it is necessary to pay more attention to the quality of journalistic works, how to make journalistic works move people's hearts, impact people's thoughts and feelings, encourage good people and good deeds, promptly commend typical individuals and groups in the patriotic emulation movement in all areas of social life.

Do not let your press agency become a communication tool to build the image of individuals, businesses or products. Must create a clear change in the fastest, shortest time after merging, arranging, streamlining, must be really strong, really have stature, be the voice of the people, be the mouthpiece of the provincial Party Committee, develop worthy of a dynamic, prosperous locality in the region and the whole country.

All levels, sectors and localities in the province need to deeply and fully understand the role of the press in the new revolutionary period. It is necessary to improve the quality of spokespersons and the responsibility of agencies providing information to the press. Strengthen the work of advising on the development of documents guiding, managing and developing the press, ensuring the principle: Development must go hand in hand with management, management must keep up with development, creating all conditions for the press to operate with quality and efficiency.

The Vietnamese revolutionary press has gone through 100 years of growth and development with the hard work of the Party, Uncle Ho and many generations of journalists. To be worthy of that glorious tradition, with the rich experience accumulated over the past time, the press agencies and the team of Long An journalists need to always uphold the sense of responsibility, maintain "a bright mind, a pure heart, a sharp pen", be absolutely loyal to the revolutionary cause of the Party, best fulfill their noble mission on the ideological front, bring the provincial press to new heights, increasingly professional, humane, modern, and honorably accompany the province and the country into the era of national development./.
