On the one hand, admitting that Korea is very strong and had a convincing victory, coach Philippe Troussier expressed regret that the Vietnamese team could have scored at least two goals.

Facing a very strong home team and using all the stars such as central defender Kim Min Jae (Bayern Munich), midfielder Lee Kang In (PSG), Hwang Hee Chan (Wolverhampton), Cho Gue Sung (Midtjylland), Son Heung Min (Tottenham), the Vietnamese team, despite playing very hard, still had to accept a heavy 0-6 defeat in the friendly match at Suwon Stadium (South Korea).
Evaluating the match, coach Philippe Troussier said: "We played well against a top team like Korea, but it was disappointing that the result was not as expected.
After the match, I told the players that it is important that we understand where we stand and always move forward."
Unlike the loss to Uzbekistan without a single shot, in the match against South Korea on the evening of October 17, the Vietnamese team had 3-4 dangerous opportunities to score but missed them. This is what coach Philippe Troussier regrets the most.
"There is a big difference between Korea and the Vietnamese team in terms of the level and experience of each player. However, I am satisfied that my players showed their full tactical ability in this match.
I think the Vietnamese players could have scored two or three goals," said the French coach.
"The physical difference is huge and we are not as good as Korea in terms of tactics. Actually, that is not surprising because the Korean team is one of the best teams in Asia," the Vietnam team captain added.
Thus, the Vietnamese team ended the FIFA Days international friendly in October without scoring any goals and conceding 10 goals. Coach Philippe Troussier said that he had achieved his goal of experimentation and the Vietnamese team would play better in the upcoming official matches.
Coach Philippe Troussier concluded: "We are preparing for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. After the heavy loss to Korea, the coaching staff and I will talk to the players so as not to negatively affect their mentality.
I am grateful to my students. They tried their best until the last minute even in the difficult situation of having to fight with 10 men.
The biggest thing we gained from this match is experience. The Vietnamese players are not used to playing in front of more than 40,000 spectators. The results of the current test will be available in the coming time, in official matches."
