"His (Kiatisak's) presence is very helpful. Zico shared his experience on how to quickly adapt to weather conditions. However, he does not interfere with the technical aspects, but mainly supports the team in terms of logistics," Coach Polking shared at a press conference on the afternoon of May 20 in Buriram.
Previously, on May 19, Kiatisak Senamuang attended the training session of the Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) in Bangkok. The legend of Hoang Anh Gia Lai and the Thai team met and took a photo with Mr. Polking.
Having previously led the CAHN Club, Kiatisak also understands the players very well, so he gave Mr. Polking some advice before the police team's rematch with Buriram United in the second leg of the ASEAN Club Championship final.
"This is a top match. It's good that CAHN came here with the strongest squad. We won't change much in our approach to the match, however, the draw in the first leg puts us at a slight disadvantage. The whole team's goal is to overcome that challenge to win and bring glory to Vietnamese fans," said coach Polking.
Attending the press conference with Mr. Polking was captain midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai.
"My teammates and I are very excited to play in a crowded stadium. All members want to bring the cup back to Vietnam," Quang Hai said.
On Buriram United's side, captain Theerathon Bunmathan also affirmed his determination to retain the Southeast Asian Cup at home.
"The whole team is 100% ready and believe that we will win the cup tomorrow. CAHN Club played very fiercely in the first leg (2-2 draw), but we are the ones holding the advantage. Everything is going according to plan and Buriram Utd will bring a gift to the fans," Bunmathan said.
The second leg of the ASEAN Club Championship 2024 - 2025 final will take place at 7:30 p.m. on May 21 at Chang Arena, Thailand.
