Surprise inspection of a factory producing products for Doan Di Bang's husband's company

On the evening of May 20, the Dong Nai Department of Health announced that it had inspected the company related to two suspended products put on the market by the company of singer Doan Di Bang's husband.

Specifically, the Inspectorate and the Department of Health of Dong Nai inspected the suspended products manufactured by EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company (Giang Dien Industrial Park, Trang Bom District).

At the time of inspection, the company was running two production lines, arranged according to the one-way principle. The path of raw materials and semi-finished products was separate from the mixing, storage and packaging areas.

Regarding Hanayuki Shampoo (300g bottle), on May 6, the company received a dispatch from the Ministry of Health regarding the suspension of circulation, recall and destruction. The very next day, the company issued a notice regarding the recall of the above product.

Accordingly, EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company has recalled 1,734 out of a total of 3,840 bottles from VB Group Trading and Service Company Limited (HCMC, the unit responsible for bringing the product to the market).

These recalled products are currently stored in the company's warehouse. VB Group is continuing to recall the remaining products.

On May 16, EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company continued to receive a recall letter from the Ministry of Health for the product Hanayuki Sunscreen Body (weight 100g).

The company then announced a recall of 1,652 boxes put on the market. VB Group is currently in the process of recalling.

The inspection team noted that for the above two products, EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company established and stored product batch records and finished product testing certificates in accordance with the production process.

Contract of testing principles No. 02/HD-TTKN dated June 15, 2024 with the Center for Testing Drugs, Cosmetics and Food of Quang Tri province.

The authorities have temporarily seized some legal documents and papers related to the two products (photocopies). The remaining number of recalled products are still kept in the warehouse and the company is responsible for storing the above goods.

The sun protection factor is too low compared to the announcement.

Regarding the incident, Dong Nai Department of Health said it has sent documents to relevant units regarding the suspension of circulation, recall and destruction of cosmetic products that do not meet quality standards.

Specifically, implementing the official dispatch of the Department of Drug Administration - Ministry of Health, the Director of Dong Nai Department of Health announced the suspension of circulation and nationwide recall of the product batch Hanayuki Sunscreen Body (box of 1 tube of 100g).

In which, EBC Dong Nai Medical Factory Joint Stock Company produces, and VB Group Trading and Service Company Limited (with Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vu - singer Doan Di Bang's husband - as the legal representative and general director of the company) is responsible for bringing the product to the market.

The reason is that the sun protection factor on the label (SPF 50) does not match the test results of the sun protection factor (SPF: 2.4).

Previously, on May 7, the Drug Administration also decided to suspend circulation, recall and destroy the entire batch of Hanayuki Shampoo products (300g bottles) also from the two above companies.

The reason is that the test results showed that the product sample violated the microbial limits and contained 2-Phenoxyethanol - an ingredient not included in the registered and published formula.

Recently, Doan Di Bang has also become a "brand face" to bring products to the market.
