Pepper prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong remained stable after yesterday's sharp decline. Currently, traders are purchasing pepper in these two localities at a price of 146,500 VND/kg.

According to statistics, pepper prices last week dropped sharply by 4,000 - 6,500 VND/kg compared to the previous week, down to only 146,000 - 147,000 VND/kg, the lowest level in the past 4 months.
In the world market, pepper prices in Brazil and Malaysia have both decreased, while those in Indonesia have increased significantly.
According to experts, while Vietnam's pepper export volume has been continuously decreasing, its main competitors, especially Indonesia, have recorded strong growth. Recent export growth shows the great potential of the Indonesian pepper industry in the global market.
The domestic pepper market is entering a period of stagnation as caution prevails among growers and buyers. Unattractive selling prices and high input costs have caused many farmers to stop investing or switch to growing durian, avocado, etc., crops with higher economic value.
Meanwhile, the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) assessed that global pepper prices remain high due to limited post-harvest output and improved demand prospects in Europe, the Middle East, and China. Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Community (IPC) on the afternoon of May 25, 2025 as follows: the market is stable and sideways compared to yesterday.
Specifically, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,432 USD/ton; similarly, Muntok white pepper is currently purchased at 10,134 USD/ton.
The Malaysian pepper market remains stable, currently the price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper is purchased at 9,150 USD/ton and the price of ASTA white pepper is at 11,850 USD/ton.
Pepper prices in Brazil remained stable, with little change compared to the previous trading session. The current purchase price is 6,650 USD/ton.
The Vietnamese pepper market continues to move sideways and stabilize. Currently, the export price of Vietnamese black pepper is at 6,700 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l is at 6,800 USD/ton and the price of white pepper is at 9,700 USD/ton.
