Solemn funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong in his hometown of Quang Ngai

On the afternoon of May 25, the coffin of former President Tran Duc Luong was taken from the National Funeral Home (Hanoi) to Chu Lai Airport (Quang Nam) and then moved to Dong Bo Mountain (Dien Truong Village, Pho Khanh Commune, Duc Pho Town, Quang Ngai Province).

At about 2:45 p.m. on May 25, the hearse carrying the coffin of former President Tran Duc Luong arrived at the foot of Dong Bo mountain (Dien Truong village, Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province).

Attending the funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong were National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia; Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front... along with a large number of people from all walks of life and the family of former President Tran Duc Luong.

At exactly 3:00 p.m., the funeral of comrade Tran Duc Luong took place in Dien Truong village, Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province.

At 3:05 p.m., leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and family members placed soil and flowers on the grave of former President Tran Duc Luong.

At 3:15 p.m., delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate former President Tran Duc Luong.

At 3:20 p.m., leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and their families burned incense in memory of former President Tran Duc Luong.

15:24, Funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong completed.

Speaking at the funeral, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, Head of the Funeral Organizing Committee, said that in recent days, the State Funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong has received special affection from leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front, people nationwide and international friends. On behalf of the Organizing Committee and his family, Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh respectfully thanked the leaders, former leaders, people and international friends who came to pay their respects, attend the memorial service, send wreaths and see off former President Tran Duc Luong to his final resting place. Up to now, the State Funeral Organizing Committee and his family have carefully completed the visitation, memorial service and farewell ceremony of former President Tran Duc Luong.
