Coach Troussier hopes his students will reveal their weaknesses.

"The opponent is strong but I hope the players can do what we have prepared," coach Troussier said about the professional goals of the Vietnamese team in the 3 friendly matches in October.

China, Uzbekistan and South Korea are the three opponents of coach Troussier and his players in this international match series. These are strong teams, ranked higher than the Vietnamese team on the FIFA rankings.

Against strong opponents, it is difficult for the Vietnamese team to win. What coach Troussier wants is for the players to execute their tactical plans correctly and play the style he wants. The French coach is also not worried about mistakes.

"I would like to emphasize that in terms of playing style, the players must create as many opening opportunities as possible, connect smoothly, we need to have positive points. I am also worried about the results because all three upcoming opponents are stronger than the Vietnamese team. However, errors are what I expect. When those things are revealed, we will have the opportunity to fix them," said the head coach of the Vietnamese team.

The Vietnamese team won against China in their most recent meeting - a match in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia that took place in early 2022. However, coach Troussier emphasized that the team from the billion-people country is still rated higher, being the product of a better football background than Vietnam.

"When the Vietnamese team plays against China, Indonesia, and Thailand, I understand that the matches against these opponents are especially important. We study the opponents and analyze the strengths of the Chinese team. On the current FIFA rankings, China is better than the Vietnamese team," said coach Troussier, emphasizing the reality of Vietnamese football's position compared to China, South Korea, and Uzbekistan.

He added: "The recent results of the clubs are the reality of the level of Vietnamese football. This has always happened since the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, when the team lost a lot. I fully understand the current position of Vietnamese football and we are trying hard to minimize the gap with the top teams in the continent.

The reason is that the number of players playing abroad is small, and there is no success. The national championship also has limitations. We are working very hard to ensure that when entering the match, we do not lose our form.

We can be confident because we have a generation of players with great potential behind us. I want to convey a positive message, to strengthen their trust in the style of play that I have built. That is to take control in some stages of the match. Of course, we cannot win all the matches, but we will try to draw lessons to improve the results for the Vietnamese team."
