Supporting people in the North to overcome the consequences of storms and floods

During the 3 days of October 19-21, the working delegation of Vinh Long province led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Le Van Han visited, encouraged and presented gifts to support people of Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh provinces who suffered damage caused by storms No. 10 and 11.

The delegation presented 1 billion VND in support to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh provinces. The delegation also visited and presented gifts to some families that suffered heavy losses due to recent storms and floods in the two provinces, supporting each household with 5 million VND.

At the destinations, on behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Long province, Mr. Le Van Han sent his condolences and sympathies for the losses and damages that the locality and people are suffering after the storm.

To support people in the Northern provinces to overcome the damage caused by the storm, the Relief Mobilization Committee (Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province) has decided to allocate 10 billion VND from the Provincial Relief Mobilization Fund to support severely affected localities. Specifically, support for 8 provinces including: Lang Son, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh (1 billion VND/province); 4 provinces including: Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang and Hung Yen (500 million VND/province).

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long Province Le Van Han said that the recent storms have caused heavy losses in human lives and property in many localities in the Northern and North Central regions. People in the disaster-affected areas are in dire need of the whole society's help and support to quickly overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives.

After more than 10 days of appeal, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province has received contributions from more than 1,000 organizations and individuals with a total amount of over 4.6 billion VND to support people affected by storm No. 10 and floods caused by storm No. 11. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province continues to call on organizations, individuals, and the business community to join hands to support people in disaster-stricken areas, helping people quickly stabilize their lives and restore production; the time for receiving donations is until November 7, 2025.
