Support more than 1,700 women to start businesses and startups in the period 2017 - 2025

(QNO) - In the period 2017 - 2025, Quang Nam mobilized nearly 10 billion VND to implement the project "Supporting women to start businesses" (Project 939) with more than 1,700 women starting businesses and startups being supported.

In the period of 2017 - 2025, the Women's Union at all levels of Quang Nam province promoted the implementation of Project 939 to 100% of its cadres and members. The Women's Union at all levels organized hundreds of propaganda sessions on women starting and developing businesses for tens of thousands of members and women; organized 142 training courses to improve capacity for 7,100 women starting businesses and startups.

The Women's Union at all levels coordinated and supported the establishment of 128 cooperatives/cooperatives managed by women. The Provincial Women's Union launched the "Quang Nam Women's Creative Startup" contest 8 times for the period 2018 - 2025 with 381 participating projects, of which 80 projects were recognized by the Provincial People's Committee.

Many projects won national awards such as: Long Hoa vegetable seasoning by author Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga of Long Hoa Vegetarian Food Company Limited (Second prize, National Startup Project Development Program); Me Mit Hoi An cereal by author Thai Thi Nhi (Third prize, National Startup Project Development Program).

There were 2 start-up projects that won high prizes at the "Women's Start-up" competition organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union; 6 prizes at the program "Vietnamese Women Confidently Doing Business" ... The Women's Start-up Festival selected 1,715 feasible start-up ideas and models of women's cadres and members to support implementation and replication...

After 8 years of implementing Project 939, Quang Nam has mobilized a total budget of nearly 10 billion VND from the provincial, district and communal levels to carry out tasks and support 1,715 women in starting businesses and startups.

Of which, 175 women from poor and disadvantaged households were supported; 25 women from ethnic minorities were supported; 7 women with disabilities were supported; and more than 1,500 other women were supported...
