Hoa Binh completes the goal of eliminating more than 3,000 temporary and dilapidated houses.

TPO - Hoa Binh province has completed the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for 3,194 poor and near-poor households, meeting the deadline set by the Prime Minister. Of which, 2,283 new houses were built and 911 houses were repaired.

Hoa Binh province promotes combined strength to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.

Mr. Bui Van Luyen, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Binh province, said that identifying the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses as a key task in sustainable poverty reduction, Hoa Binh province has directed resolutely, mobilized all resources, and the participation of the entire political system, people, and business community with the spirit of "Whoever has something helps, whoever has merit helps merit, whoever has property helps property, whoever has little helps little, whoever has a lot helps a lot".

“The campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Hoa Binh has created a competitive movement, connecting the community, and helping each other. 10/10 districts and cities have established a Steering Committee to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses at the grassroots level, issued operating regulations to deploy and implement the program; established working groups and support groups to conduct surveys and closely review each household that needs to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses...”, said Mr. Bui Van Luyen.

Housing support is guaranteed to be public, transparent, consistent with customs and practices, and the actual conditions of the household. In particular, the new house must ensure 3 hards (hard foundation, hard walls, hard roof) according to housing regulations. 80% of the houses handed over have an area of ​​50 - 65 m2, worth 120 - 170 million VND.

The happiness of people when local authorities, businesses and people help to remove temporary houses.

In order to ensure funding for the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, Hoa Binh province has proactively mobilized all resources. The total budget mobilized by the province is 213.77 billion VND. Of which, the budget from the 5% savings source of regular state budget expenditure in 2024 is 38.77 billion VND; the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front supports 10 billion VND, Hanoi supports 15 billion VND; enterprises support 150 billion VND.

In addition, local people contributed many materials, goods and nearly 47,000 working days to complete houses for poor households in the area.

The completion of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households comes from "the command of the heart", demonstrating the determination of the entire political system, creating a strong change in awareness and responsibility of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations. In particular, the support of the whole society for the poor, people affected by natural disasters, policy families, and meritorious people with housing difficulties. With tireless efforts, the movement has achieved proud results, so that no one is left behind", said Mr. Bui Van Luyen.
