This afternoon (December 27), Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and contractors signed a 120-day competition agreement to complete and put the T3 terminal of Tan Son Nhat International Airport into operation on April 30, 2025.

This project has a total investment of VND 10,990 billion from ACV's equity and commercial loans.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Viet - Deputy General Director in charge of ACV - said that up to now, the entire project has reached more than 83% of the volume. Of which, the rough construction of the project has been completed.

Contractors are rushing to complete the architecture, construction, interior and equipment installation; striving to complete the entire project to operate and put terminal T3 into operation on April 30, 2025 - 2 months ahead of schedule.

According to Mr. Le Khac Hong - Head of the T3 Terminal Construction Project Management Board, to properly implement the above plan, the contractor consortium must complete it 1 month before that time.

“That means the items must be completed by March 31, 2025 at the latest for testing and acceptance. The competition is 120 days but in reality, we only have 90 days left. The biggest challenge is that Tet is 1 month away, at that time it is very difficult to mobilize enough workers, so we need to have policies to encourage and attract workers,” Mr. Hong shared.

When completed and put into operation, Terminal T3 will have a capacity of more than 20 million passengers per year, serving 7,000 passengers per peak hour; and be able to handle all types of aircraft code C and E. The project will fundamentally resolve traffic congestion at the existing Tan Son Nhat airport.
