Hoang Duc admits a reality about the Vietnam team and himself

On the afternoon of December 11, the Vietnamese team practiced at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ) after resting and recovering. Speaking before the practice session, Hoang Duc shared: "The weather in Laos and Vietnam is different. In Vietnam, it is cold and winter has entered. Before that, when we were still in Laos, some players who played less or had not played yet practiced more. This morning, the whole team held a meeting to review the experience after the match with Laos. We did not mention the goal we conceded in that match. Goalkeeper coach Lee Won-jae met privately to talk to Dinh Trieu about that situation."

Hoang Duc also gave a professional perspective: "In the first half of the match against Laos, the whole team entered the game a bit hastily and attacked a bit quickly. From an objective perspective, Laos' pitch was quite bad, so the team had some unfavorable ball receiving situations, leading to mistakes."

Hoang Duc played relatively low in the match against the Laos team so he could not show off many of his strengths.

In addition, he frankly admitted: "I did not play well. I learned from this morning's experience with the whole team. In the match against Indonesia, I will try my best. The whole team will go out and play their best and win. The Vietnamese team will aim for each match with the best results."

In the third round of the AFF Cup 2024, the Vietnamese team will face Indonesia at 8:00 p.m. on December 15 at Viet Tri Stadium. This is considered the match to determine the top spot in Group B. Hoang Duc commented on this opponent: "They will not have many naturalized players like in the third qualifying round. Most of the players have played in the National Championship. I also had the opportunity to face them when I played on this field at the SEA Games. I think the next match will be good. Indonesia has made a lot of progress. The team will have a strategy to play against Indonesia."
