On the morning of October 15 at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), Qualcomm officially launched the L2Pro online training platform. This is a non-profit program that guides students, researchers and startups on how to register patents, manage copyrights and commercialize technology products.

L2Pro - short for "Learn to Protect" - provides comprehensive knowledge of creative property protection. The platform helps learners master the process of applying for patents, applying for copyrights, and managing trademarks. In particular, the course focuses on integrating intellectual property with practical business strategies.

"Innovation cannot be effective without intellectual property protection. This is an important lesson for students," emphasized Mr. Ram Krishnan - Senior Director of Technology Copyright at Qualcomm.

The program has been successfully implemented in the US, India, Taiwan and Africa. Vietnam is the latest market in L2Pro's expansion strategy. Mr. Krishnan assessed that Vietnam is at an "exciting time" when Resolution 57-NQ/TW encourages the development of science, technology and innovation.

On the same day, Qualcomm launched the Qualcomm Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2026 (QVIC 2026). The program aims to find and incubate startups in the fields of AI, 5G, IoT, robotics, automotive technology and smart cities.

Since its launch in 2020, QVIC has achieved remarkable results. Participating startups have filed more than 200 patent, copyright, trademark and industrial design applications. This number shows the positive impact of the program on the Vietnamese technology startup ecosystem.

Mr. Pham Hong Quat - Director of the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises under the Ministry of Science and Technology - highly appreciated the significance of the event. Organizing it at a technology university helps to connect training, research and startups. He expects that the courses combining innovation, calling for investment capital and intellectual property will create a complete startup cycle, laying the foundation for future technology "unicorns".

"Now is the time to make money from intellectual property and intellectual products," said Mr. Quat.

Mr. Dang Hoai Bac - Director of PTIT - believes that L2Pro and QVIC will inspire students and young startups. He emphasized that even a breakthrough idea will be difficult to succeed without legal protection.

"The Learn to Protect platform helps students not only know how to create technology but also know how to protect it," said Mr. Bac. The PTIT director also shared the school's vision that in the next 10 years, there will be a Vietnamese technology unicorn that grows from PTIT.
