Hai Phong students get to leave school early to prevent storms

TPO – The Department of Education and Training of Hai Phong has just requested that districts directeducational establishments in the area to be used as evacuation and temporary storm shelters for people and students in Cat Hai district to have a day off from noon on September 6.

On the morning of September 6, the Department of Education and Training of Hai Phong issued an urgent dispatch requesting districts to direct educational institutions and request the implementation of emergency response measures to prevent storm No. 3 .

Accordingly, students at educational institutions across the city will be off from September 7 until the storm passes and further notice is given.

For educational facilities requisitioned by the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense as evacuation and storm shelters for people, students will be off from school from 1:00 p.m. on September 6.

For educational institutions in Cat Hai district, students will be off from school from 10:00 a.m. on September 6.

Teaching and remedial learning are proactively carried out by units, ensuring compliance with the 2024-2025 school year schedule for preschool, general education, and continuing education.

Students at some schools in central districts and Cat Hai district were allowed to leave early from noon on September 6 to prepare for storm No. 3.

Before the new developments of storm No. 3 strengthening to super storm level and the direction of the Prime Minister , the Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee issued an official dispatch directing departments, branches and localities to urgently carry out storm prevention tasks.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tung - Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee requested the Department of Construction to urgently review old apartment buildings that meet the conditions to be ready to accommodate households that may be affected by the storm and need to evacuate to avoid the storm.

The People's Committees of Hong Bang, Le Chan, and Ngo Quyen districts shall review residential areas that are deeply flooded and at risk of being severely affected by the storm to compile, compile statistics, and prepare school and office areas to serve as storm shelters for the people. At the same time, prepare means, human resources, facilities, and essential food to be ready to respond to necessary situations.

For Do Son and Cat Ba districts, the Chairman of the City People's Committee requested localities to review facilities and storm prevention equipment according to the "4 on-site" motto.

On the morning of September 6, the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City Party Committee, together with departments, branches and localities, deployed many working groups to directly go to the grassroots, districts and the most vulnerable areas to inspect storm prevention work. At the same time, additional plans to prevent storm No. 3 were deployed after inspection and review.
