On the morning of September 5, 21 million students nationwide entered the Opening Ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year. This is the first school year to implement the 2018 GeneralEducation Program in all grades, from grades 1 to 12. In Hanoi, there are 2,913 schools with nearly 2.3 million students holding the Opening Ceremony. This school year, Hanoi has 2 more high schools in operation, meeting the learning needs of the capital's residents.

According to Dan Viet reporter , at Linh Dam Primary School, Hoang Liet Ward, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi , many parents brought their children to school early. This is also the ward with the largest number of students in Hanoi.

Sharing with PV Dan Viet , Mr. Nguyen Anh Viet said that his son, Nguyen Duc Tri, officially entered first grade this year. On the first day of school, Tri excitedly woke up very early.

"For the past few days, my child has been asking, "Is my first day of school coming soon, Mom and Dad?" Today, he woke up early and didn't have to call much. His mood is very happy, making his parents like me feel excited," Mr. Viet shared.

Sharing with PV Dan Viet , Ms. Ta Thi Thanh Tam, Principal of Linh Dam Primary School, said that this year the whole school has nearly 3,000 students, a total of 57 classes, an increase of 136 students, an increase of 2 classes compared to the previous school year.

At Hoang Liet Kindergarten, this morning, a school festival was also held for children. Director of the Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong said that among the 10 main tasks for the 2024-2025 school year, the capital's education sector identified the top important task as reviewing and supplementing the planning for the development of the school and class network.

In the context of rapid population growth, the Department of Education and Training will strengthen its advice to the city to allocate sufficient resources for education; persistently and resolutely resolve the lack of schools and classrooms in some localities, especially in central districts; pay attention to repairing and upgrading schools, toilet systems, trees, creating a green, clean, beautiful, safe and friendly educational environment.

At the same time, the Department consulted with the city to direct the acceleration of the construction of schools meeting national standards, aiming to have 80% to 85% of schools meeting standards by 2025 as the target set by the Resolution of the 17th City Party Congress.

It is expected that by the period 2025-2030, the whole city will have about 30-35 more public high schools.

In particular, Hanoi will have 7 more modern advanced schools, from primary to high school, built in the near future. Currently, 4/7 units have been approved for investment. This will help densely populated districts with rapid urbanization have enough places for children to study.
