The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just announced new regulations on the city-level "Students, trainees, and students with startup ideas" contest for the 2025-2026 school year. One of the important highlights is the regulation that students must be fully responsible for the intellectual property rights of the products they submit to the contest.
According to the Department of Education and Training, the competition is organized to spread the spirit of entrepreneurship in schools, helping students develop innovative thinking, scientific research skills and the ability to commercialize products. This is also an opportunity for students to access real-life experience environments, solving community and social problems with creative solutions.

The competition aims to discover and incubate potential ideas, supporting feasible projects to participate in the national startup competition. Although the main target is high school students, the Department encourages middle school students to boldly register to participate to practice skills early.
Teams register in groups of up to 5 students with 1 instructor. Projects can be in many fields such as industry - manufacturing, agriculture , services, finance, education, health, culture, tourism or business creating social impact.
In addition to the presentation, each team must submit a product presentation video , maximum size 500 MB.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training emphasized that all entries must comply with the principle of not infringing on intellectual property rights. The information in the entry must be accurate and the group is responsible for it.
Projects must not use works, designs, or inventions that are in dispute over copyright. If the idea or creative solution has been registered for protection, the contestant must complete legal procedures before publishing it in the competition.
In case of copyright disputes after the project wins the prize, the contestant and the team must take responsibility according to the provisions of the law. The Organizing Committee does not intervene in legal issues arising outside the scope of the contest.
The competition consists of 2 rounds. The preliminary round takes place from November 15 to December 15, the jury will select 12 projects with the highest applicability and feasibility to enter the final round. The preliminary results will be announced on December 25.
From December 25 to 31, the finalists will be guided to complete their documents and presentations. The final round, scheduled for January 10, 2026, will be where the teams will present and defend their ideas directly before a panel of judges.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training hopes that the contest will continue to create a dynamic creative environment, helping students boldly put their ideas into practice and forming a culture of respecting copyright right from school.
