Thanh Hoa ranks 5th in the country in digital transformation by 2024

According to the National Digital Transformation Index 2024 (DTI 2024) announced by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Thanh Hoa continues to make a remarkable mark when ranking 5th in the country with 0.7742 points. This is the first year that all three pillars of Digital Government - Digital Economy - Digital Society of the province have achieved high and even scores, affirming the drastic participation of the entire political system and strong changes in awareness and actions of people and businesses on digital transformation.

Thanh Hoa province ranked 5th in the country in terms of the national digital transformation index (DTI) in 2024 with 0.7742 points.

The DTI 2024 results clearly reflect Thanh Hoa's efforts in implementing digital transformation tasks in a synchronous, comprehensive and effective manner.

In the digital government pillar, the province scored 0.8668 points , ranking among the top in the country. All documents exchanged between administrative agencies are done electronically; eligible online public services have been provided online throughout. The rate of online processing records has increased rapidly, especially in areas with large transaction volumes such as land, education , construction licensing, and business registration.

The province's shared data infrastructure is increasingly complete, connecting seamlessly with the national data center. The Provincial Public Administration Service Center operates synchronously with digital platforms, helping to reduce time and costs for people and businesses. Many localities have built and effectively operated the "friendly digital government" model, supporting people to handle procedures right at the grassroots level.

In the digital economy pillar, Thanh Hoa scored 0.8836 points , clearly reflecting the strong shift of enterprises in applying digital technology. Many processing - manufacturing, material production, energy, logistics enterprises... have invested in smart management systems, automated production lines, applied electronic invoices, digital payments and data analysis for business. E-commerce activities have developed strongly, especially with OCOP products, clean agricultural products, rural industrial products increasingly present on major e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Postmart, Voso...

Regarding the Digital Economy Index, Thanh Hoa ranked 4th in the country with 0.8836 points.

The small and medium-sized enterprise community is also supported by the province in training digital skills, brand recognition, traceability and product promotion via digital platforms. This is a factor that helps businesses increase competitiveness, expand markets and improve labor productivity.

In the digital society field, Thanh Hoa scored 0.8627 points , demonstrating a high level of access and enjoyment of digital services by the people. The rate of people using smartphones and broadband Internet is high; cashless payments are popular from urban to rural areas. Digital applications serving healthcare, education, tourism, and social security are widely deployed, helping people access information faster and more transparently.

A notable point is that the Community Digital Technology Team in communes and wards continues to be an "extended arm" in supporting people in using online public services, electronic identification, digital payments, etc., contributing to shortening the digital gap between advantaged and disadvantaged areas.

According to the assessment of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Thanh Hoa is one of the localities with remarkable progress in digital infrastructure. Many projects have been implemented synchronously such as smart operation centers, data centers, information security monitoring, provincial shared digital platforms, etc., creating a solid foundation for the province to carry out large-scale, multi-sector digital transformation.

At the same time, the province's innovation ecosystem is gradually taking shape. Thanh Hoa has attracted many technology enterprises to invest and cooperate in deploying artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, Internet of Things (IoT), smart sensor systems, semiconductor industry, etc. to serve urban management, environmental monitoring, infrastructure management and production and business. Cooperation programs with large domestic and foreign corporations help the province access new technology and international experience more quickly.

The DTI 2024 ranking results are not only a testament to the province's determination in implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW on building and developing Thanh Hoa to 2030, with a vision to 2045, but also mark a step forward in the management thinking of all levels of government. From a place where digital transformation was just a technological task, it has now become a mandatory requirement in all areas of governance, socio-economic development, and people's lives.

Ranking 5th in the country in digital transformation in 2024 is an important driving force for Thanh Hoa to continue to promote the implementation of digital transformation tasks in 2025 and the following years. With a complete digital infrastructure, the support of businesses and the active participation of the people, Thanh Hoa is converging all the conditions to become one of the leading localities in the country in digital transformation, digital economy and digital government. This is also an important premise for the province to make a strong breakthrough, towards the goal of becoming a new growth pole of the North Central region and the whole country.
