OCOP Spring Fair 2025 promises many attractions

On January 17, the Quang Ninh OCOP Spring Fair 2025 - one of the province's biggest annual trade promotion events of the year will officially open. At present, OCOP production facilities in the province are rushing to prepare to bring the best products to consumers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

Organic green vegetables in Dien Xa commune, Tien Yen district are a popular product among consumers at fairs.

Organically grown green mustard is one of the specialties of the Tien Yen highlands that has been loved by many consumers for many years. This is also one of the most sought-after agricultural products of Tien Yen district during fairs and is always in a state of "out of stock". In 2024, to meet consumer demand, the area of organic green mustard in Dien Xa commune was expanded to 4 hectares. Currently, the vegetables are in harvest season, ready for the Quang Ninh Spring OCOP Fair 2025.

Ms. Hoang Thi Ngan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Xa Commune, Tien Yen District, said: Up to now, we have about 10 tons of 100% organic green vegetables, with the best quality due to favorable weather factors such as sweet cold and lots of sunshine, giving the vegetables the highest sweetness. We are also looking forward to the opening day of the Fair to bring our products to serve consumers this Tet holiday.

In Van Don district, there are currently 53 OCOP products in the district, of which 41 products have 3 stars, 11 products have 4 stars and 1 product has 5 stars. The most popular products are dried products, seafood, fish sauce, etc. Anticipating that people's shopping needs during Tet will increase, production facilities have proactively planned production early, ensuring abundant supply to the market as well as participating in the OCOP Spring Fair 2025. In particular, for seafood products, after the storm as well as at the end of the year, they are more scarce, so production units have also proactively planned to stockpile enough raw materials for production, ensuring supply to the market.

Thanks to the initiative in raw materials and human resources, we have also ensured output for this year-end crop, ready to bring the best and most delicious products to the Spring OCOP Fair 2025.

Up to now, the whole province has 393 OCOP products from 13 localities achieving 3-5 stars (of which 296 products achieved 3 stars; 93 products achieved 4 stars and 4 products achieved 5 stars), there are 218 production entities with products achieving 3-5 stars (of which there are 55 enterprises, 89 cooperatives, 74 production households). 100% of the province's OCOP products have been assessed for product quality, ensuring food safety.

The 2025 Spring OCOP Fair will take place from January 17 to January 22, 2025 (ie from December 18 to 23, the year of the Dragon) at the Quang Ninh Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Center, Ha Long City. It is expected that the fair will have 200 booths introducing OCOP products and typical agricultural products from inside and outside the province.

The OCOP Spring Fair 2025 will take place from January 17 to January 22, 2025 at the Quang Ninh Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace.

Up to now, all preparations for the Fair are being actively carried out by the Industry and Trade sector and related units. In addition to the construction of welcome gates and booths, related issues such as electricity, water, fire prevention and fighting are also being implemented. This year, the Fair will be divided into 4 sub-areas: Area 1 has about 100 booths introducing typical products, OCOP products of districts, towns and cities of Quang Ninh; Area 2 arranges 80 booths to display and introduce OCOP products, typical agricultural products of provinces, cities and domestic economic organizations; Area 3 arranges 20 booths for small and medium enterprises trading in products serving the Lunar New Year such as cakes, jams, candies, drinks, decorative handicrafts, etc.; Area 4 is the symbolic space of the Quang Ninh OCOP program associated with the symbolic cultural space of Spring to serve the needs of taking souvenir photos, creating a communication effect, and a joyful atmosphere to welcome the New Spring 2025 for people when coming to the Fair.

As one of the key trade promotion events of the year, the OCOP Spring Fair 2025 will continue to be an opportunity for businesses, production facilities, and cooperatives in the province to connect, expand markets, and promote products more widely to consumers. This is also an opportunity for units to exchange experiences and receive market feedback to continuously improve product quality and move towards export.
