One of the most outstanding features is that over the past 5 years, the emulation movements of "Exemplary war veterans" and "War veterans help each other reduce poverty and do good business " have achieved many remarkable results. Accordingly, many cadres and members have registered to participate in local economic development programs such as investing in developing farms to grow industrial crops, fruit trees, raising livestock, poultry, aquaculture, providing services, producing construction materials, and fine art wood. Many economic models annually generate an average income of 150 - 350 million VND/model, including 3 enterprises generating an income of 1 - 1.8 billion VND.

To help members gain knowledge about production and business, the District Veterans Association and grassroots associations closely coordinated with many specialized agencies in agriculture to open 60 training courses on transferring science and technology, exchanging production experiences for more than 2,850 members; opened 9 training courses to improve knowledge of borrowing capital for association officials, savings and loan groups with more than 540 participants.

Along with that, the Trieu Phong Veterans Association actively coordinated with organizations and individuals to support the repair and construction of 12 new houses for poor members with housing difficulties. In addition, the association at all levels undertook the construction of 5 models of environmental protection for veterans with the theme "Self-managed green roads - beautiful gardens - clean houses", actively responded to and effectively participated in the construction of the "Repaying gratitude" fund and the "For the poor" fund launched by all levels.

At the same time, encourage cadres and members of the Veterans Association to take the lead in implementing campaigns, national target programs, and patriotic emulation movements launched by the central and local governments.

Particularly for the construction of new rural areas, many war veterans in the district donated 7,773 m2 of land, participated in over 5,000 working days to build nearly 17,000m of rural roads, including over 6,000m of concrete roads, built and repaired 25km of intra-field canals, installed 175 signs on the war veterans' self-managed road section with a length of 62.5km and installed many billboards and visual propaganda posters to propagate the Party's policies, the State's policies and laws, and socio-political events of the homeland and the country with a total amount of 100 million VND.

Every year, the District Veterans Association and grassroots associations organize visits and give gifts to veteran members who are beneficiaries of policies, have contributed to the revolution, members with serious illnesses, and those living alone and facing difficulties on holidays and Tet.

In response to the appeal letter of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association on the implementation of Decision No. 1237 dated July 27, 2013 of the Prime Minister on a general review of people with revolutionary contributions associated with the movement "Mobilizing veterans to provide information and find comrades", the association at all levels has actively worked with the commune military command to implement.

Through this, 3 families of martyrs were informed of the burial places of martyrs so that they could visit or bring the remains of martyrs back to their hometowns for burial, as well as coordinate the search and exhumation of 33 martyrs' graves for burial at martyrs' cemeteries.

In addition, the War Veterans Association in the district and related sectors built 52 village models free of crime and social evils, handled 49 cases causing disunity, affecting order and safety in residential areas as well as successfully reconciled 69 land disputes, conflicts and discords, educated and reformed 129 youths and teenagers to abandon wrong lifestyles and return to a healthy and progressive lifestyle, which was highly appreciated by families, schools and society.

The District Veterans Association has also coordinated with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and related sectors to organize training courses on labor export for officials, members, children of veterans and people, and signed a program to coordinate activities in the fields of employment, labor export and poverty reduction for the period 2020-2025. Thereby, it has helped 298 children to complete labor export procedures, of which 40 are children of veterans.

The War Veterans Association in the district has done a good job of propagating and mobilizing cadres, members and people to effectively implement the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on site clearance to build programs and projects such as the construction of the 110KW Trieu Ai - Lao Bao transformer station and the central road along the axis of the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone passing through the communes of Trieu An, Trieu Lang and Trieu Van.

At the same time, it is recommended that competent authorities promptly resolve the legitimate wishes and recommendations of the people, so that in the past, there have been no complaints by members of the War Veterans Association and people that have been prolonged, and that there have been no "hot spots" regarding political security and social order and safety in the district.

With that approach, every year 100% of grassroots organizations complete their tasks well, of which 20% complete their tasks excellently, exemplary members reach 98%, and cultural families reach 97%. The lives of members' families have improved significantly. In 2020, the average income per capita reached 56.5 million VND/person, up to 68.9 million VND/person in 2023. To date, the entire association has only 16 poor war veteran households, accounting for 0.48% of the total number of member households.

In recognition of its achievements, the District Veterans Association was awarded the Emulation Flag for Excellence by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association for the period 2019-2023; the Provincial People's Committee recognized the title of Excellent Labor Collective for the period 2020-2022; and was assessed by the Provincial Veterans Association as a unit that achieved the title of Excellent Task Completion for many consecutive years, from 2020 to 2023.

In the coming time, the Trieu Phong District Veterans Association strives to have 100% of its organizations successfully complete their tasks every year, of which 20% will complete their tasks excellently, over 98% of its members will be exemplary, and over 97% of its members' families will be cultural. By the end of 2029, all poor households and dilapidated houses for veterans will be basically eliminated, and the number of well-off and rich households will reach 88% or more...
