Talks between the Organizing Committee of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee and the Organizing Committee of Savannakhet Province

Today, May 23, within the framework of the meeting between the Organizing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee (Vietnam) and the Organizing Committee of Savannakhet Province (Laos), the delegation of the Organizing Committee of Savannakhet Province led by Head of the Organizing Committee of Savannakhet Province Bua Son Ma Ha Vong paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of Quang Tri Province. Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang; Head of the Organizing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Van Phung received the delegation.

At the meeting, Head of the Organizing Committee of Savannakhet Province Bua Son Ma Ha Vong provided general information about the socio-economic development situation of Savannakhet Province as well as the results of cooperation with the Organizing Committee of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee in the past time. At the same time, he hoped that in the coming time, the leaders of Quang Tri Province would continue to pay attention and support so that the coordination and exchange of working experiences between the organizing committees of the two provinces would achieve better results.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang highly appreciated the cooperation activities of the organizing committees of Quang Tri and Savannakhet provinces in recent times, and suggested that the two sides continue to carry out more cooperation activities to contribute to improving the quality of Party building work as well as fostering the special relationship between Quang Tri and Savannakhet provinces in particular and Vietnam - Laos in general to go deeper and more substantively.

On the same afternoon, in Dong Ha City, a meeting was held between the organizing committees of Quang Tri and Savannakhet provinces. At the meeting, Head of the Organizing Committee of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Phan Van Phung informed about some highlights of the socio-economic situation, national defense and security; Party building and organization work; intermediate political theory training for officials of Savannakhet province; and assessed the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the organizing committees of the two provinces.

Accordingly, implementing the memorandum of understanding signed in May 2022, in 2023 and 2024, Quang Tri province will organize the opening of the XII and XIII courses to train intermediate political theory for officials of Salavan and Savannakhet provinces with 50 students; in November 2022, the Organizing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee will support Savannakhet province in investing in equipment for online conferences; in July 2024, the province will enroll the first course to train leaders and managers for Salavan and Savannakhet provinces with 30 students.

In addition, Quang Tri province continues to provide funding to train students currently studying information technology at Quang Tri Pedagogical College with 10 students, and will recruit 26 more students by the end of 2024; creating conditions to train students majoring in nursing and pharmacy at Quang Tri Medical College.

Head of the Organizing Committee of Savannakhet Province Bun Son Ma Ha Vong informed about some highlights of the socio-economic situation, national defense and security; Party building and organization work; recruitment of students to study intermediate political theory, arrangement of cadres after obtaining intermediate political theory degrees to return to the country as well as assessment of the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the organizing committees of the two provinces.

Currently, all cadres who have completed their studies in Quang Tri and returned to the country have a firm political stance, changed their working methods, and improved work quality. More than 90% of cadres who have completed their intermediate political theory course have been assigned to higher positions. In the near future, Savannakhet province will send its management and leadership cadres to study at Le Duan Political School.

Head of the Organizing Committee of Savannakhet Province, Bua Son Ma Ha Vong, thanked the leaders of Quang Tri Province, the Organizing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Le Duan Political School for paying special attention to training political theory and administrative skills for Lao cadres. To date, Le Duan Political School has trained 12 courses of political theory with 530 students for the two provinces of Savannakhet and Salavan.

At the end of the talks, the two sides agreed on many important contents, including maintaining annual coordination to inform each other about the socio-economic situation, Party building and organization work, especially good practices, valuable experiences as well as providing some documents on Party building and organization work for both sides to study and refer to.

Continue to cooperate, send cadres to train intermediate political theory in Quang Tri province as well as leadership and management training classes at Le Duan Political School, recruit students to study at Quang Tri Pedagogical College and Quang Tri Medical College.

During the working trip to Quang Tri, the Organizing Committee of Savannakhet province visited Le Duan Political School, where 50 Lao students are studying intermediate political theory.
