The delegation visited the Bamboo Garden and Biochar model at the LTHTGN Clubs in Cao Son commune, Da Bac district.
The pilot model of Bamboo Garden and Biochar under the project "Promoting climate change response actions by the elderly to improve income" (GIS998 Project) is sponsored and technically supported by HAI. The project is implemented by the Provincial Association of the Elderly through 2 LTHTGN Clubs in Seo village and Son Phu village, Cao Son commune (Da Bac) in the period from March to June 2025. Currently, the 2 Clubs have established 2 groups with 7 members participating in bamboo cultivation and using household charcoal in cultivation and soil improvement activities under the technical guidance of the project. Accordingly, the Club members have participated in planting Luc Truc bamboo with a market price of about 50,000 VND/tree. Currently, the members have planted over 500 trees with a total area of about 8,000m2.
During the visit, delegates were introduced to the Bamboo Garden and Biochar model implemented by the Provincial Association of the Elderly through the LTHTGN Clubs in Cao Son commune. At the same time, they contributed ideas and shared experiences so that the model could continue to develop and be replicated in the area. This would contribute to improving operational efficiency, helping the Elderly Association and LTHTGN Club members to improve their capacity to take actions to mitigate and adapt to climate change, while improving income and improving the quality of life.
