* Support 65 initiatives, each initiative receives a maximum of 1.65 billion VND
On April 24, the Provincial Women's Union coordinated with Oxfam in Vietnam to organize a Kick-off Workshop and share information about the first call for proposals for funding - the Project "Supporting green transformation initiatives led by women" (PWG) - photo .
Attending the workshop were officials representing a number of provincial departments and branches, the Women Entrepreneurs Association, officials of the Center under the Department of Agriculture and Environment, officials of the Women's Union at district and commune levels, and representatives of cooperatives with women on the Board of Directors.
At the workshop, delegates learned about the PWG Project. Accordingly, the project will be implemented within 5 years (2025 - 2030), supporting 65 initiatives, each initiative can receive a maximum of 1.65 billion VND, implemented in 12 - 18 months in the provinces: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Hue city, Quang Nam and Bac Lieu.
The project aims to improve sustainable employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for women in the green and circular economy sectors. At the same time, the project also increases women’s participation in policies and decisions that affect their lives. The first round of funding focuses on the theme: “Raising awareness, contributing to improving green livelihoods, accessing decent jobs and increasing women’s participation in contributing ideas to the process of building and perfecting policies on climate change response, disaster risk reduction and environmental protection”.
