Last night and early morning of August 7, many areas across the country experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms, some places had heavy rain. The rainfall recorded from 7pm on August 6 to 3am on August 7 was over 40mm in some places, such as Dai Thang station ( Hanoi ) 51.8mm, Ben Tam station (Hai Phong) 61mm.

Localized heavy rain can cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas, urban areas and industrial zones.

It is forecasted that in the next 24-48 hours, the mountainous and midland areas of the North will continue to have showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing moderate to heavy rain (10-30mm, with some spots over 80mm), mainly concentrated in the morning of August 7. From the afternoon and night of August 7, rainfall will tend to decrease, but scattered thunderstorms will still occur, with the potential risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
