Over the past 5 years, the Provincial Association of the Elderly at all levels has mobilized and donated more than 530,000 gifts to the elderly with a total amount of VND 115 billion. Quang Nam currently has 221,318 elderly people, including 202,865 elderly members, accounting for 91.6%. Over the past 5 years, the whole province has had over 607,420 elderly people receiving medical examination and treatment at district-level health centers and commune health stations. Every year, the Association of the Elderly from the province to the grassroots level has coordinated well with medical facilities to regularly implement the program "Bright eyes for the elderly". Material and spiritual care is also emphasized. The whole province has 76,100 elderly people receiving social protection. Of these, 30,819 elderly people aged 60 to 79 are from poor households; 45,281 elderly people aged 80 and over do not have pensions or social insurance benefits.
In the past 5 years, the province has had over 122,144 elderly people celebrated with a total cost of over 63 billion VND. Associations at all levels also mobilized to organize visits and present gifts to the elderly on the occasion of Lunar New Year with a total cost of over 125 billion VND...
