More than 200 students from Binh An commune exchange and experience traditional art

(GLO)- In order to contribute to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​among the young generation, on the morning of August 4, Gia Lai Traditional Arts Theater coordinated with the People's Committee of Binh An commune and Tay Vinh Secondary School to organize an exchange and experience of traditional arts for local students.

Attending the program were representatives of the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province, leaders of Binh An commune, along with staff, teachers and more than 200 students of Tay Vinh Secondary School. The exchange took place in a warm and exciting atmosphere, bringing meaningful experiences to students in rural areas.

At the program, People's Artist Phuong Thao - former actor of Dao Tan Tuong Troupe (under Gia Lai Traditional Arts Theater) - introduced to students the unique features of Binh Dinh Tuong opera, from makeup techniques, costumes to acting and character expression. Through the lively presentation of People's Artist Phuong Thao, students learned more about the value of the Tuong opera heritage.

Next, Meritorious Artist Thuy Dung - Head of the Binh Dinh Bai Choi Opera Troupe (under the Gia Lai Traditional Arts Theater) introduced the folk Bai Choi art heritage and the Binh Dinh Bai Choi opera stage. The children were introduced to folk Bai Choi melodies, the differences between folk Bai Choi and the Binh Dinh Bai Choi opera stage, as well as enjoyed the illustrations with the artist's introduction.

The highlight of the exchange was the performance of an excerpt from the opera The Old Man Carrying His Wife Watching the Festival by the artists of the Dao Tan Tuong Troupe. With skillful and humorous acting and characteristic physical movements, the performance received enthusiastic cheers from the students.

After the performance, the children also directly participated in the card game performed by artists of the Binh Dinh Card Game Troupe following a traditional card game festival. This is a form of joyful and cohesive community cultural activity that has become an indispensable spiritual food for the people of Gia Lai region during holidays and Tet.

The exchange is a practical activity to spread the value of traditional art to the younger generation. This is also an opportunity for students to experience reality, raise awareness, love and pride for the national cultural heritage.

Previously, in mid-June 2025, Gia Lai Provincial Traditional Arts Theater also organized a similar activity at My Thang Secondary School (Phu My Dong Commune, Gia Lai Province).
