Dynamic cooperative, caring for difficult circumstances
My An Agricultural and Fishery Service Cooperative was established in July 2024 in Xuan Binh village (My An commune, Phu My district) with its first products being essential oils and cajuput essential oils. In December 2024, the cooperative launched an additional fish sauce product under the Ong Hoang brand.
According to Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoang, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of the Cooperative, the idea of establishing the Cooperative was formed in 2021 after the Covid-19 pandemic. When he realized that the virus was making many people's respiratory systems worse, he thought of an essential oil that could support the respiratory tract in the human body.

To have a stable source of raw materials for essential oil products, My An Agricultural and Fishery Service Cooperative rents land to grow mint; at the same time, it links the supply chain by providing seeds to 2 households growing mint in the area to buy raw materials. Mr. Hoang said that the Cooperative currently has about 3,000 m2 of mint. After a period of market research, seeing that many people are hesitant about the smell of essential oils in public places, the Cooperative has handled it so that its essential oil products do not spread the smell and do not affect people around.
To expand the market, in December 2024, the Cooperative participated in the booth introducing Phu My district's typical products at the 2024 Binh Dinh Agricultural Products Fair. Recently, the Cooperative continued to participate in the Phu My district Women's Entrepreneurship Festival in early March 2025.
Mr. Hoang said that on March 10, the Cooperative signed a memorandum of understanding with the Provincial Association for the Blind, agreeing that from March 10 to June 30, the Cooperative would donate 500 VND/product to support the blind people in need in the province. On this occasion, the Cooperative also sent 160 bottles of oil to the blind people in need in the two districts of Tay Son and Vinh Thanh.
After nearly 1 year of establishment, My An Agricultural and Fishery Service Cooperative has 8 members with an average income of 4 - 6 million VND/month. According to Mr. Le Xuan Thuong, Chairman of My An Commune People's Committee, My An Agricultural and Fishery Service Cooperative is the first cooperative in the commune. In its fields of operation, the cooperative always plays a role in connecting with farmers, creating a closed production chain in production and consumption of products, thereby contributing to creating jobs and increasing income for local people.
