Hue positions its tourism brand as a "green city"

Hue has long been known as a city of tranquility and poetry. The gentle Huong River, the majestic Ngu Binh Mountain, the ancient tombs and the gentle pace of life make Hue an ideal resting place for those who seek peace amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life.

As one of the leading cities in the “Say no to plastic waste” movement, Hue actively implements waste classification programs at source, encouraging residents and tourists to use environmentally friendly products. Many model streets such as Le Loi, Nguyen Chi Dieu, Dong Da, etc. have become models for green spaces with shady trees, clean roads, synchronous lighting systems and carefully cared for public spaces.

At the same time, the local government actively cooperates with non-governmental organizations, social enterprises and communities in campaigns to clean up the Huong River, plant more trees, and create suburban ecological parks. These efforts not only improve the quality of life of the people but also create a unique highlight for the local tourism industry.

The “Green Sunday” campaign has been actively responded to by Hue people. On Sundays, thousands of people, from students to officials, civil servants and workers, participate in cleaning and collecting waste on roads, public areas, riverbanks and residential areas.

In Hue, many hotels and resorts are built according to nature-friendly criteria, using renewable energy, arranging lots of green spaces and prioritizing open design... Eco-tours in Thien An hill area, Tam Giang - Cau Hai mangrove forest, Phuoc Tich ancient village... also contribute to promoting the model of green and sustainable tourism.

Many international travel bloggers and YouTubers who have visited Hue have praised the city for its harmonious combination of heritage preservation and modern development. Ancient street corners interspersed with civilized shops, smokeless cyclo tours, or festivals held periodically to honor the value of nature, culture and people - all of which make Hue increasingly win the hearts of the global tourism community.

With the achieved results, Hue is gradually building a new tourism brand “Hue - green city”. This is a strategic orientation, aiming to make Hue not only a place to preserve heritage but also a place to generate sustainable living values, and above all, a model for urban development associated with environmental protection and sustainable tourism development.

In the context of many tourist cities facing pollution, waste and uncontrolled development, Hue with its "green - clean - beautiful" orientation is proving that a heritage city can still develop modernly without sacrificing the environment.

With more than 64,000 street trees, exceeding the green tree standards for a class 1 urban area, Hue City has the highest green tree density in the country, reaching 12.9m2/person (data provided by the Ministry of Construction ), not to mention trees in private gardens, nursery land, office trees, trees in the relic system, and landscape forests.

From above, Hue city looks like it is covered with a cool green "carpet" by the green tree system throughout the city.
