Hue is an attractive destination for tourists from all over the world.

The award is part of the Southeast Asia Tourism Forum (ATF) taking place from January 22 to 27. The ASEAN Clean Tourist City is an annual award that contributes to honoring and developing high-quality tourism brands in the region. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for units to promote and improve the effectiveness of promoting Vietnamese tourism and the national destination brand.

Destinations in the region who want to compete will submit their applications. Experts will score based on 108 award criteria and divide them into 7 main categories: Environmental management, cleanliness, waste management, environmental awareness, green space, urban security and safety, health, and infrastructure, tourism facilities.

This is not the first time the three destinations have been awarded the ASEAN Clean Tourist City award. Quy Nhon was named in 2020, while Vung Tau and Hue have won the award three times before.

Director of the Department of Tourism Nguyen Van Phuc said that in addition to the above award, Hue has 2 more ASEAN Tourism Awards 2024 - 2026 presented at the ATF 2024 event, including: ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Product 2024 for Cultural - Artistic - Vegetarian Cuisine Experience Tourism at An Nhien Garden; MICE ASEAN 2024 venue - Event venue category for Silkpath Grand Hue Hotel (2nd consecutive year).

This is a golden opportunity to promote the position of Hue City and Thua Thien Hue in the process of becoming a centrally-governed city with the tourism brand: "Hue - Ancient capital, new experiences", and the three identities: Hue - festival city, culinary capital and ao dai capital.
