Regarding the rice variety structure, the main varieties include: PC6, Ha Phat 3, SV181, HN6, DV108... In particular, the promising varieties: ADI28, QC03, Hung Long 555, Tan Uu 98, BT09, HG12, TBR97... are new varieties so the production area should be moderate to ensure safety in production.

For corn varieties, the structure of key, drought-resistant, high-yield varieties is: NK6101, NK6275, NK7328, CP512, CP311...; waxy corn varieties HN88, ADI668...; biomass corn: NK7328 Bt/GT; CP511...

Regarding the planting season, rice varieties with a growth period of 90-95 days are sown from May 20-30; for rice varieties with a shorter growth period, they are sown from May 30-June 5. The planting season for corn, peanuts, and beans is from May 1-June 10.

Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Tran Dinh Hiep said that, based on the orientation, localities need to develop reasonable irrigation and drainage plans right from the beginning of the season; regularly monitor weather developments and actual conditions to ensure adequate irrigation, avoiding local droughts...; strictly comply with regulations on crop varieties; for areas at risk of drought and insufficient irrigation water, it is necessary to proactively switch to suitable upland crops; plan concentrated production areas and crop groups to easily regulate irrigation and drainage.
