On the morning of March 26, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province Le Van Dung chaired a meeting to receive and resolve complaints related to compensation and site clearance of citizen Nguyen Van Pho, residing in Binh Trieu commune, Thang Binh district.

According to citizen Nguyen Van Pho, in 1995, his family was granted a land use right certificate for a plot of land with a total area of nearly ^750m2 in Binh Trieu commune. In 2017, Thang Binh district reclaimed this land area to implement a rescue road project. Mr. Pho's family strictly followed the policy and handed over the land and land use right certificate to the People's Committee of Thang Binh district to register changes to adjust the reclaimed land area. However, from 2017 to now, the People's Committee of Thang Binh district has not yet returned the land use right certificate to Mr. Pho's family and has not arranged resettlement.

After listening to the presentation from the People's Committee of Thang Binh district and the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung emphasized that the failure to return the land use right certificate to citizens over the past 8 years was due to the negligence of the functional agencies of Thang Binh district. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung requested Thang Binh district to quickly carry out the procedures and return the land use right certificate to Mr. Pho's family on March 27. At the same time, seriously review and draw lessons from the officials involved in this incident, absolutely not allowing similar incidents to happen.
