Tri Ton district trains to improve the capacity of community communication team members

On May 15, the An Giang Provincial Women's Union and the Tri Ton District Women's Union trained to improve the capacity of community communication team members in 2025. This activity is part of Project 8 (Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children), the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, Phase 1, 2021 - 2025.

At the training course, 95 members of 19 community communication teams in particularly disadvantaged hamlets and villages were instructed and shared basic knowledge about communication and forms of communication. Specifically: Direct communication and principles of direct communication; direct communication skills, factors affecting the effectiveness of communication; planning steps, organizational skills for communication sessions; public speaking skills; news writing skills, communication articles.

Delegates were also updated with knowledge about beliefs and religions in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; knowledge about gender and gender equality; identification of gender issues in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. At the same time, they discussed, exchanged and clarified some common issues in communication work, the issue of violence occurring in real life... to find appropriate solutions.

The training course aims to equip the community communication team with knowledge and skills to propagate and mobilize people in Khmer ethnic minority areas to change their thinking and ways of doing things; eliminate gender prejudices, gender stereotypes, and harmful backward cultural practices; implement gender equality, enhance the power and position of women and children in the family and society, and actively contribute to building a new, civilized cultural life in phum and soc.
