Isco is about to receive the highest salary at Betis

Real Betis are close to finalising a new contract with Isco, keeping the former Real Madrid star at Benito Villamarin until at least 2028.

The deal could be announced as early as next week. Isco is happy with life at Betis and has no intention of leaving. According to Goal , the new contract makes Isco the highest-paid player at the club, equal to Antony.

Antony, who signed a five-year deal last summer, currently earns €7.8m a year including bonuses. Isco will earn the same amount when he signs a new deal. The club are also considering options to extend his contract until 2029 or even allow him to stay until the end of his career, depending on his performance.

Despite suffering a serious injury in August, a broken fibula, Isco returned to training earlier this month. Coach Manuel Pellegrini confirmed: "He is available for selection after the end of the national team training session."

Notably, Isco returned to the Spanish national team to participate in the Nations League for the first time in 6 years in June. With the 2026 World Cup, this is his last chance to represent "La Roja" at the highest level. Coach Luis de la Fuente affirmed: "We still consider calling Isco when he recovers. We wish him a quick return to the field."
