Trang Tien Ice Cream on the list of 'legendary ice cream shops'

Trang Tien Ice Cream in Hoan Kiem District is considered a part of Vietnamese culinary heritage, and is in the top 100 legendary ice cream shops of Taste Altas.

On December 14, the world- famous culinary website Taste Atlas announced the list of Most Iconic Food Places in the World 2023, honoring traditional eateries serving local dishes. These destinations were selected based on the following criteria: longevity, prestige, iconic status of the restaurant as well as the restaurant's dishes, and reviews from diners and experts.

Restaurants are divided into three sub-categories: ice cream shops, dessert shops and eateries. Trang Tien Ice Cream was honored in the top 100 Most Legendary Ice Cream Places and ranked 13th.

Located at 35 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem District, Trang Tien Ice Cream is a favorite address of local and international diners when visiting the capital Hanoi . Opened to welcome guests since the 1950s, this ice cream address is highly appreciated by Taste Atlas experts and recognized as part of Hanoi's culinary heritage. The most favorite ice cream of many international guests at the store is coconut milk ice cream.

Pho Thin was honored in the top 150 Most Legendary Restaurants, iconic local eateries, ranked 63rd. The restaurant opened in the 1970s. Today, the restaurant is a favorite destination for domestic and foreign diners who want to experience the authentic feeling of a traditional bowl of pho from Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general.

The World’s Most Iconic Food Places is a ranking within the framework of the annual Taste Atlas Awards, based on the votes and scores of culinary experts, chefs, and diners around the world. In 2023, there were more than 400,000 votes and scores of cuisines submitted for this event. The ranking criteria are based on the total score of more than 50 dishes and local culinary products.

Other categories also mentioned include 100 Best Dishes, Best Food Cities & regions, 100 Best Cuisines in the World.

Founded in 2015, Taste Atlas connects with 9,000 local restaurants, introduces more than 10,000 dishes to readers, thousands of reviews, research by culinary experts and chefs. The website aims to become a world map of traditional dishes made from local ingredients.
