Connecting domestic tourism to bring tourists to Phu Quoc

On the afternoon of May 23, Kien Giang Tourism Association held a conference to deploy the 2025 operation plan and connect trade between domestic tourism businesses, with the theme "Phu Quoc - Paradise of the sea".

Phu Quoc needs to have many tourism packages for tourists to choose from.

Mr. Bui Quoc Thai - Director of Kien Giang Department of Tourism - said that tourism in Kien Giang, especially Phu Quoc, has recovered and developed strongly. In the first 5 months of 2025, Kien Giang is expected to welcome over 5.6 million visitors, of which over 780,000 are international visitors, with total tourism revenue of over 23,000 billion VND.

Of which, Phu Quoc City is estimated to welcome more than 3.5 million visitors, an increase of 30.5% over the same period in 2024, over 770,000 visitors, an increase of 78.3% over the same period.

Mr. Thai added that the spirit of "connecting - sharing - developing together" will open up many opportunities for practical cooperation, forming unique, creative and highly competitive tourism products in the domestic and international markets.

Kien Giang commits to accompany and create the most favorable conditions for tourism businesses to provide tourism services, contributing to the sustainable development of Phu Quoc tourism.

"Phu Quoc currently has full amenities and diverse accommodation facilities, so tourists can conveniently choose to travel for relaxation, events, and meetings.

I think Phu Quoc needs many green tourism packages, slow tourism, and resorts so that tourists can easily choose to experience, have fun, and explore " - Ms. Le Thanh Thao, President of Hanoi Tourism Association, commented.

Need to train professional human resources to serve Phu Quoc tourism

Ms. Quang Xuan Lua - Director of Kien Giang Center for Promotion, Investment, Trade and Tourism - informed local authorities that businesses should join hands to implement strategies, improve infrastructure, create creative tourism products, and ensure service quality.

Accommodation establishments and localities need to coordinate with each other to create a connected, convenient, attractive tourism system and especially stimulate demand and promote the image of Phu Quoc tourism to attract visitors.

Mr. Tran Viet Phuong - Vice President of Vietnam Tourism Association - said that Phu Quoc is currently a leading tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists. To develop further, Phu Quoc needs to promote destination connectivity, tour routes, and destination communication.

This is an important, necessary, inevitable issue and is also the key for Phu Quoc to develop sustainable and better tourism.

Kien Giang especially needs to train and foster quality human resources to contribute to the development of Phu Quoc tourism in the future," Mr. Phuong emphasized.

On this occasion, Kien Giang Tourism Association launched Phu Quoc Tourism Association and organized a famtrip with the theme: "Phu Quoc - Paradise of the Sea 2025", with 80 domestic travel agencies participating to stimulate summer tourism in 2025.
