Connecting trade and expanding product consumption markets with Lam Dong province

BTO-On the morning of May 26, the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Thuan province organized a conference to connect trade, expand product consumption markets, and seek partners and distributors to cooperate and develop with the Department of Industry and Trade of Lam Dong province.

Attending the conference were representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade, the Business Association and 31 enterprises and cooperatives producing and processing OCOP products, rural industrial products, typical products; and distribution enterprises of the two provinces of Binh Thuan and Lam Dong .

Up to now, the province has 70 OCOP products from 3 to 5 stars, 60 typical rural industrial products, mainly dragon fruit and seafood. The province's products through many different distribution channels have been present in many markets across the country, including the potential market of Ho Chi Minh City, but have not yet widely reached consumers. Expanding the consumption market for the province's typical and OCOP products is an issue of concern for enterprises and production cooperatives. Therefore, in recent times, with the efforts of enterprises, related sectors of the province have regularly organized conferences to connect trade and expand the product consumption market with provinces and cities across the country.

Lam Dong province currently has more than 500 enterprises and facilities processing agricultural products. Each year, it processes about 54,200 tons of vegetables, tubers, and fruits; more than 39,500 tons and 11,000 tons of finished coffee; ... The rate of pre-processed agricultural products reaches 67%, processed products reach over 21%. In recent times, Lam Dong has focused on developing linkage chains in industrial production, processing, and manufacturing activities associated with domestic consumption and export, with key product groups such as: tea, coffee, silk, flowers, vegetables, fruits, medicinal herbs ... The conference is an opportunity for enterprises, cooperatives, and production and trading establishments of OCOP products, typical rural industrial products of the province to introduce products, and connect directly with distribution enterprises in the province and Lam Dong province.

Signing of memorandum of understanding and cooperation

At the conference, representatives of enterprises and production establishments introduced their products and discussed the need for connecting consumption between the two provinces. At the same time, they signed memorandums of understanding on cooperation, business contracts, and supply between production establishments and consumption of goods. The Department of Industry and Trade and the Business Association of the two provinces also signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Binh Thuan and Lam Dong.
