Tourists are eagerly flocking to Moc Chau, Son La to see plum blossoms blooming throughout the valleys and villages in early spring.
Plum blossoms begin to bloom, showing off their pure white color amidst the mountains and forests. Normally, plum blossoms in the main season begin to bloom from mid-January to early February. Plum blossoms fade quickly, each flower garden will bloom beautifully for about 2 - 3 weeks. The tiny flowers, with thin white petals, form dense clusters on branches covered with green moss, creating a beauty imbued with the mountains and forests. Ms. Le Thi Hang, owner of a plum garden in Cho Long sub-area, Moc Chau Farm town, said: “Only a few plum gardens are in full bloom at the end of the year, but starting from January, plum blossoms will bloom white in many other gardens. Mu Nau and Na Ka valleys do not have many flowers at this time, the most beautiful time will be in 2-3 weeks.” “Every day, many tourists come to enjoy the flowers and take pictures of the plum forest, especially on weekends. The ticket price is 30,000 VND/adult, children are free,” the garden owner shared. The peak blooming time of each plum garden will be different. To see the most beautiful flowers in Moc Chau, you should contact some garden owners and locals in advance. The plum trees are low, only about the height of a person, so visitors can easily pose for photos anywhere in the garden. Many tourists from Hanoi do not mind the cold weather and long distance to Moc Chau to admire the plum garden. Coming to Moc Chau at this time, in addition to plum blossoms, there are still late-season rose gardens, oranges in season, and white mustard flowers in full bloom. Ms. Hang noted: “Moc Chau has warm sunshine during the day, the temperature drops at night, and there is often fog in the early morning. You should bring warm clothes to wear in the evening, and choose clothes with bright colors to take better photos when entering the plum garden.”
