On the occasion of the recent April 30 holiday, Mr. Nguyen Hieu Linh's family ( Hanoi ) had the opportunity to go to Con Dao (Ba Ria Vung Tau province) for a 5-day, 4-night vacation because of their love for nature and sea turtle conservation activities. This was also the first time the whole family went to Con Dao, so the emotions of the members were both excited and nervous.

On May 3, when he came to explore Hon Bay Canh to see turtles laying eggs, the Hanoi visitor thought things would not go smoothly because the night before, there was heavy rain and thunder, preventing the turtles from coming to the beach to lay eggs.

However, the next morning (May 4), before leaving the island, Linh was surprised to see four small turtles playing together. The visitor was overwhelmed with emotion when witnessing this rare moment.

"My heart skipped a beat because of the cuteness of the four turtles. However, because I was afraid of affecting their natural activities, I just kept the camera from a distance and zoomed in many times to watch," the visitor from Hanoi shared.

It is known that the green turtles appearing in the video are a common animal in Con Dao, commonly known as vich. From April to October every year, turtles from faraway oceans will come to Con Dao waters to breed.

During this time, tourists sitting on canoes moving to small islands often see sea turtles mating. However, the scene of 4 turtles chasing each other, playing in a circle and then mating is considered "very rare".

According to a representative of Con Dao National Park, the mating period of turtles can last 72 hours continuously. After mating several times a week, the male turtle will swim back to the sea to find food, while the female turtle will return to the sandy beach where she previously laid her eggs to lay them again.

Statistics show that about 80% of turtles choose Hon Bay Canh to lay eggs. Anh Linh also encountered many turtles gathering in the Bai Cat Lon area of Hon Bay Canh to find a mate, preparing for the breeding season.

It is known that in mid-April, Con Dao National Park also announced the opening of sea turtle conservation tours with the aim of increasing the experience and raising public awareness of the importance of nature conservation.

With this special tour, visitors will be trained by Con Dao National Park on necessary skills, procedures, and conservation regulations before setting foot on the small islands.

Here, visitors can experience nature, diverse flora and fauna, learn about the island's ecosystem, dive to see corals, and participate in cleaning the sandbank to create a nesting ground for turtles. Along with that, visitors will participate in patrolling and guarding safe sea areas to attract turtles to lay eggs.

The tours are expected to be launched this summer with a maximum number of guests of 4-10 people per tour. The cost of a 5-day tour is from 11.7 million VND/guest, a 7-day tour is from 15.7 million VND/guest and a 10-day tour is over 20 million VND/guest.
