Opening of the Asian Rowing Championship in Hai Phong

TPO - On the morning of October 16, hundreds of athletes from 18 countries officially competed in 20 events of the 2025 Asian Rowing Championship, at the Hai Phong City Rowing Training Center.

On the morning of October 16, at the Hai Phong City Rowing Training Center, the competition of hundreds of athletes from 18 countries participating in the 2025 Asian Rowing Championship officially took place.

Early in the morning, athletes and coaches of the participating teams were present at the Hai Phong City Rowing Training Center to warm up, check competition equipment and get ready to participate in the group stage of 20 events.

The organization and refereeing work was professionally organized. The members of the organizing committee were arranged at the waiting areas, reception halls, and inspection areas before the teams arrived at the bridge to lower the boats.

Competition equipment and athlete lists are carefully checked to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.

The competitions are held consecutively, alternating. When a competition is taking place, the athletes of the next competition will get on the boat and gradually move to the competition area.

After finishing the competition, the athletes quickly returned to the assembly point and cleaned up their competition equipment to their team's location.

The 2025 Asian Rowing Championships will take place from October 16-19 at the Hai Phong City Rowing Training Center with the participation of 678 members from 18 Asian countries. Athletes will compete in 20 events for both men and women.
This is the first time Hai Phong has been chosen to host the Asian Rowing Championship. It is an opportunity for Vietnamese athletes to prepare for upcoming major sporting events such as: Seagame 33 in Thailand and the 20th Asian Games.
International experts assess that the Rowing Training Center in Hai Phong is an ideal location because it has a clear river and clean water source, ensuring the best criteria for organizing the tournament.
