On the morning of March 24, at VinUni University, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) held the Opening Ceremony of the National Team Selection Exam to compete in the 2025 International and Regional Olympics.
Attending the event were leaders of a number of units under the Ministry of Education and Training, representatives of the Departments of Education and Training, high schools, scientists, experts, teachers and 187 candidates summoned to participate in the National Team Selection Exam for the 2025 International and Regional Olympics.

In his opening speech, Director of the Department of Quality Management Huynh Van Chuong emphasized: Our Party and State always determine that "education is the top national policy, talent is the national spirit", as the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress affirmed "Developing high-quality human resources, especially talent, is the key driving force to make the country break through in the period of integration and the 4.0 industrial revolution".
In that spirit, the Party and the Government have issued a series of breakthrough policies such as: Decree 179/2024/ND-CP stipulating policies to attract and promote talented people to work in agencies, organizations and units; Decision 899/QD-TTg approving the Project on developing high-quality human resources by 2030; Directive No. 10-CT/TW of the Secretariat on "Improving the quality of education and training of talents to meet the requirements of national development"; Conclusion No. 72-KL/TW of the Politburo, requiring localities and the education sector to "create all conditions for talents to be discovered, trained properly and promoted appropriately". And especially recently, Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, in which students are the core for breakthrough development.

“This clearly demonstrates the State’s expectation and commitment to turning talent into a driving force for national development. The Olympic competitions are an indispensable part of this strategy. This is not only an intellectual playground but also an opportunity for students to access advanced knowledge, practice critical thinking and problem-solving skills - important provisions to become global citizens,” said Director Huynh Van Chuong.
Director Huynh Van Chuong requested the Examination Council to promote a sense of responsibility, ensuring the exam is serious, fair and transparent.

Representing 187 candidates participating in the exam, Ngo Quang Minh, a student taking the Chemistry exam at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh province, shared his thanks to the Ministry of Education and Training for creating a useful domestic and international playground for key training, so that students can demonstrate their abilities and promised to strictly follow the exam regulations, complete the exam honestly, and strive to do their best in this important exam with the goal of achieving the best results.
At the opening ceremony, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the examination council; examination schedule; examination location; disseminated examination regulations, responsibilities of candidates, and responsibilities of examination supervisors.

Candidates taking the exam
In 2024, Vietnam had 7 student delegations participating in regional and international Olympic competitions with 38 participating students, all winning prizes with 12 Gold Medals, 15 Silver Medals, 10 Bronze Medals and 1 Certificate of Merit. This is not only the pride of the education sector but also a testament to the perseverance and creativity of the young generation of Vietnam, with the aspiration to reach international standards.
The national team selection exam for the 2025 international and regional Olympics will take place over 3 days, from March 25-27.
