Opening of Cultural Festival

Tonight, July 12, at Cua Viet Tourist - Service Area, Gio Linh District, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri Province in collaboration with Vietnam Travel Magazine organized the opening ceremony of the International Cultural - Culinary Festival with the theme "Flavor of the sunny flower land". This is the key activity in the series of events of the Festival for Peace to honor the diversity and uniqueness of Vietnamese cuisine in general and Quang Tri cuisine in particular in tourism activities. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong emphasized that this is the first time Quang Tri province has organized a Peace Festival on a national and international scale, including many exciting and impressive cultural, sports and tourism activities.

The festival aims to honor the value of peace, commemorate and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the survival of the Fatherland, commemorate the victims of war, and the painful losses caused by war. At the same time, it promotes and contributes to enhancing the position and image of Vietnam and the land and people of Quang Tri , building Quang Tri into a cultural space for peace.

In that series of activities, the Cultural - Culinary Festival "Taste of the sunny flower land" is an important highlight to honor the diversity and uniqueness of Vietnamese cuisine, Quang Tri cuisine and cuisine of some countries in the world.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee called on visitors to come and enjoy the typical dishes of the land full of sun and wind, to immerse themselves in meaningful peace events full of great humanity. From there, they will feel a Quang Tri with a colorful picture bestowed by nature and created by human hands.

The International Cultural - Culinary Festival "Taste of the Sunny Land" took place from July 12 to 14 with the participation of nearly 100 culinary booths from localities across the country and countries such as: Laos, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Italy...

Here, Quang Tri province introduces to friends everywhere the culinary culture imbued with local identity such as: nem hen cho Sai, bun hen Mai Xa, ga Cua, Gio An pork tray, Hai Lang porridge, Cua Viet seafood, dishes of Van Kieu and Pa Ko people, vegetarian dishes, OCOP products... In particular, at the festival, the following dishes were promoted: bun hen Mai Xa, nem lui cho Sai, chicken Cua stewed with pumpkin, grouper smoked in wine...

Accompanying the festival is an international kite exchange activity in collaboration with the Center for Kite Cultural Heritage Conservation, including 6 teams of domestic and international kite artisans participating in the performance. The kite artisans will perform light kites on the beach during the event nights. In addition to enjoying the cuisine, the audience also has the opportunity to participate in interesting experiential activities such as kite making, artistic face painting, etc.

At the opening ceremony of the International Cultural - Culinary Festival “Taste of the Sunflower Land”, the audience enjoyed a special art program with the theme “Colors of the homeland”, “Returning to the sunflower land” including performances with traditional melodies, folk colors of Vietnamese regions as well as the colors of flowers and sunlight with the flavor of Quang Tri land mixed with the sounds of contemporary, youthful life. All cultural values from all over the world converged in the space of the festival.
