Opening of the "Heroic Army" Exhibition

(CPV) - The exhibition "Heroic Army - Strong National Defense" showcases nearly 300 images, documents, and artifacts summarizing the process of building, fighting, and maturing of the Vietnam People's Army, and the achievements of 35 years of implementing the National Defense Day.

In anticipation of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), on December 13, the Vietnam Military History Museum organized the opening of the exhibition "Heroic Army - Strong National Defense".

Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the exhibition "Heroic Army - Strong National Defense".

The exhibition aims to contribute to the education of revolutionary traditions and the glorious achievements of our army and people in the struggle for national liberation, national construction, and defense, especially among the younger generation, regarding the revolutionary traditions and heroic deeds of our army and people in the cause of national liberation, national construction, and defense. Through this, it aims to awaken national pride, patriotism, and revolutionary heroism; to strive to build a strong national defense system, and to build a revolutionary, regular, elite, and progressively modern Vietnamese People's Army, meeting the requirements of firmly defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland in the new era.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Colonel Le Vu Huy, Director of the Vietnam Military History Museum, said that the exhibition introduces nearly 300 images, documents, and artifacts summarizing the process of building, fighting, and maturing of the Vietnam People's Army, and the achievements of 35 years of implementing the National Defense Day; comprising three main contents.

Part 1: The birth of the revolutionary army; Part 2: Decisive battle, decisive victory - For national independence; Part 3: Strong national defense - Protecting the homeland.

The images, artifacts, and documents presented at the exhibition are valuable materials preserved at the Vietnam Military History Museum and units throughout the army, and are being displayed for the first time. Notable examples include: 5 Gold Star Orders awarded to the Vietnam People's Army by the National Assembly, the State, and the Government; Certificates and Orders of Military Merit, First Class, awarded by President Ho Chi Minh to the Liberation Army, the Southern Uprising Army, and the Bac Son Guerrilla Army in 1948; and the Heroic Unit Flag of the Liberation Armed Forces, bearing 154 medals and decorations, awarded by the Provisional Government of the Republic of South Vietnam to the 367th Special Forces Unit. The deception plan – drafted by Lieutenant Colonel Khuat Duy Tien, Head of Operations Department, Central Highlands Front, and implemented in the Central Highlands Campaign, March 1975… along with products from several factories under the General Department of Defense Industry, Air Force, Navy, Chemical Corps, Communications Corps, and the Technical Application and Production Company Limited (TECAPRO)…

Some images, documents, and artifacts are on display at the exhibition.

The exhibition opens to visitors on December 13, 2024, at the Vietnam Military History Museum, Km 6+500 Thang Long Boulevard, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi.
