On the evening of November 20, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with the People's Committee of Thanh Oai commune to open the " Exhibition to promote and connect OCOP products, handicrafts and craft villages serving tourism and the Vietnamese Market in Thanh Oai commune in 2025".
The exhibition brings together OCOP products, handicrafts, typical products of rural industrial establishments, businesses and typical artisans with 80 standard booths; display area introducing OCOP products, traditional products of Thanh Oai commune and communes in Hanoi city and 45 standard booths of Vietnamese market.
Speaking at the opening of the Exhibition, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen The Hiep said that this year's Exhibition was held in the context of the city's OCOP Program continuing to achieve many outstanding achievements. Hanoi currently has more than 3,600 recognized OCOP products, leading the country in quantity and quality of products, of which there are 65 5-star OCOP products, accounting for more than 50% of the total number of 5-star products in the country.
In the 2021-2024 period, the city's craft village and rural industry areas recorded an average growth rate of 6.7% per year, with total revenue from OCOP products and handicrafts reaching 15 to 17 trillion VND annually, affirming the important role of the craft village economic sector in the trade-service structure of the capital.

In that general picture, Thanh Oai commune is a bright spot of Hanoi in terms of cultural-craft-tourism potential. The whole commune currently has 11 craft villages and villages with crafts, with unique traditional occupations such as conical hats in Chuong village, food processing in Nga Mi Ha village, agricultural processing in Nga Mi Thuong village... Up to now, the whole commune has nearly 25 OCOP products belonging to many different groups of occupations, from food, beverages to handicrafts.
This exhibition is not only a trade promotion activity, but also a journey of connection, where traditional values blend with modern life; where businesses find opportunities to expand cooperation and expand markets.

Vice Chairman of Thanh Oai Commune People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai shared that the "One Commune One Product - OCOP" program, which has been strongly implemented in recent years, has shown remarkable effectiveness, contributing to increasing the value of rural products and promoting sustainable local economic development. Handicrafts and craft village products, crystallized from skillful hands, creativity and cultural identity of each region, are the pride of Vietnam.
Thanh Oai is a land of outstanding people, with a long history and advantages in terms of transportation, natural conditions and especially the richness of cultural heritages. This is the foundation for Thanh Oai commune to develop a model combining craft villages with tourism, creating a unique identity in the picture of new rural development of the capital.
At the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the quintessence of craft villages, immerse themselves in a unique cultural space and connect directly with artisans and businesses.
The exhibition will take place until November 23, 2025 at Thanh Oai Park, Thanh Oai Commune, Hanoi City.
