The week was held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations. and The Vietnam-China Year of Humanitarian Exchange aims to deeply implement the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders, strengthen comprehensive cooperation and contribute to building a community of shared future between Vietnam and China, which is of strategic significance .
Speaking at the opening of the week, Chairman of the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Wei Thao emphasized that China and Vietnam are two friendly socialist neighboring countries linked by mountains and rivers, sharing the same ideals, beliefs and broad strategic interests.
Cultural exchanges between Vietnam and China are increasingly close, revolving around themes such as the Vietnam-China Friendship Journey following Ho Chi Minh's footsteps ; along with research activities such as red studies, China-Vietnam friendship art exchanges... Along the border area, events such as the China-Vietnam Border People's Festival, antiphonal singing on the border river... continue to be held.
At the same time, digital cooperation in artificial intelligence is constantly expanding. A series of cross-border cooperation projects on AI have been signed between Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises. Guangxi has organized 5 AI training courses for leaders of Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities, with a training scale of more than 200 people.
Mr. Vi Thao assessed that humanistic exchange is the most profound and sustainable force in promoting connections between countries. Meanwhile, creativity and science and technology are key driving forces leading social progress and economic development.
Guangxi is willing to work with the Vietnamese side to implement the important understandings reached by the two countries' senior leaders, promote mutual understanding among the people, and strengthen innovative cooperation, thereby contributing to the building of a China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
In the coming time, Mr. Vi Thao hopes that both sides will promote cultural development; continue to deeply exploit revolutionary heritage values, tell stories of friendship, and promote exchanges between key groups of people, including young people.
Expand cooperation between cultural organizations; support the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi to organize diverse cultural and tourism activities, establish more exchange platforms, enhance integration and promotion of regional cultural resources, and help people of the two countries enjoy the fruits of cultural exchange.
At the same time, promote the improvement of the quality and level of the Detian Waterfall (China) - Ban Gioc (Vietnam) Cross-Border Tourism Cooperation Zone, combine the unique tourism resources of the two sides, jointly design and promote high-quality tourism routes between Guangxi and Vietnam, and attract more tourists.
Strengthen regular connections between tourism management agencies, industry associations and businesses of the two countries, continuously optimize tourism services and facilitation measures. Support tourism businesses of both sides to coordinate in organizing tourism promotion conferences, participating in international tourism fairs, and jointly exploiting the source market of visitors.
In addition, the two sides can jointly build the China-Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Application Center, promoting in-depth cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnam in the fields of AI model research and development, industry coordination and mutual recognition of standards.
Accelerate the development of AI applications in areas such as agriculture, manufacturing, transportation, energy, culture, tourism, etc. At the same time, explore and promote the construction of cross-border trusted data spaces and cross-border data testing zones, and cooperate in training more high-quality AI experts.
Mr. Vi Thao added that coming to the Guangxi Culture - Tourism - Science and Technology Week, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the unique natural landscapes, colorful ethnic cultures and modern scientific achievements of Guangxi.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong affirmed that cultural exchange and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and China is a traditional relationship based on the long-standing neighborly friendship between the two countries.
In 1992, the two governments signed an Agreement on Cultural Cooperation. On that basis, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China periodically signed and implemented the Cultural and Tourism Cooperation Plan.
The Deputy Minister added that the vibrant cultural introduction and tourism promotion programs in both countries have gradually contributed to the development of bilateral cooperation in culture and tourism, which is good and sustainable, worthy of the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, making an important contribution to the building of the Vietnam - China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
These activities have brought about clear results as China returned to its position as the number 1 market sending tourists to Vietnam with 4.3 million visitors in the first 10 months of 2025, accounting for 25.2% of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam.
The Deputy Minister stated that Guangxi is one of the strategically important provinces of China - both a dynamic economic center and a land with a long-standing culture and rich tourism potential. Tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Guangxi has had positive initial steps, achieving many practical results.
Today's program continues to be an important step to help both sides open up new cooperation opportunities, so that more and more Vietnamese tourists can see with their own eyes the "poetry and painting" called Guangxi and vice versa, so that Guangxi friends can discover the beauty of Vietnamese culture, people and country.
Along with the cultural and scientific activities of Guangxi, within the framework of the event, a photo exhibition of President Ho Chi Minh with Guangxi (China) took place. This is a vivid demonstration of the friendly neighborly relationship between Vietnam and China, an important activity to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China.

The Deputy Minister believes that the Guangxi Culture – Tourism – Science and Technology Week will be an opportunity for Vietnamese audiences to get closer to Guangxi culture. From there, it will enhance understanding, trust and strong friendship between the two sides. At the same time, it will open up a wide space for cooperation in the field of science and technology, creating conditions for the two countries to exchange experiences and seek cooperation opportunities in technology transfer.
According to the organizers, the week is designed according to a comprehensive experience model of sound, image, taste, and touch, providing a comprehensive view of the landscape, ethnic culture, historical depth, and modern technological achievements of Guangxi. The event promises to bring the capital's public a colorful, modern, lively, and experiential cultural and tourism exchange space.
