This is not only a place to preserve, recreate and honor national cultural identity, but also a space for eco- tourism , relaxation and unique cultural experiences.

"Cultural museum" of 54 ethnic groups
With a total area of over 1,500 hectares, the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village is divided into many functional areas: Ethnic village area, cultural center area, world heritage area, service - tourism area, green area, water surface... In which, the ethnic village area is the "heart" of the entire complex, where the living space, house architecture, customs, festivals and traditional occupations of many ethnic groups such as Tay, Nung, Dao, Ede, Mong, Thai, Khmer, Cham are vividly recreated.
Unlike many other tourist attractions, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism is not simply a complex of architectural reproductions, but also a vibrant space with the daily participation of ethnic people from many localities across the country, from the Northern mountainous region, the midlands to the Central Highlands and the Southwest.
Each stilt house, communal house, and pagoda here, along with traditional festivals, dances, folk games, and cuisine , all contain a cultural story, demonstrating the richness and diversity of Vietnamese cultural identity. For that reason, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism is considered a “living cultural museum” of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.
According to Director of the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism Ngo Thi Hong Tham, in addition to the cultural activities organized regularly every month and every week according to different themes, each year the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism organizes hundreds of unique cultural activities, from the "Spring Colors in All Regions of the Country" Festival, the Great Solidarity Week of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups, to folk festivals such as the Central Highlands Gong Festival, the Kate Festival of the Cham people or the Bunpimay Water Festival of the Lao community in Vietnam...
In addition, visitors also have the opportunity to experience ethnic culture in daily life such as listening to then singing of the Tay people, xoe dancing of the Thai people; enjoying traditional cuisine; participating in brocade weaving, making rice wine, pounding banh giay, wrapping banh chung... Each experience helps visitors understand more deeply about the spirit of solidarity, love for the homeland and national pride.
Build special tours
Not only a cultural center, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism is also an ideal eco-tourism destination for domestic and foreign tourists. Visitors can walk, cycle, and camp by the large lakes and green pine hills.
According to the Chairman of the Hanoi Tourism Association (Hanoi Tourism Association) Le Thanh Thao, with the advantage of ecological conditions, diverse and attractive cultural space and convenient geographical location from Hanoi city center, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism is an ideal tourist destination for domestic and international tourists. This place can form community tourism products, eco-tourism, cultural experience tourism, school tourism, etc.
Officially put into operation since 2010, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism has been in operation for 15 years. Despite its many advantages and thorough investment, according to tourism experts, the exploitation of tourism potential has not been as expected. The number of tourists coming to the Village is still low, and tourism revenue has not met the requirements.
According to Chairman of the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club Truong Quoc Hung, the weak point in tourism activities at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism is the weak connection mechanism between destinations and travel agencies. The construction of sightseeing tours combined with experiences at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism is not much.
On October 4, the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) organized a famtrip program with the participation of more than 60 representatives of travel companies and tourism businesses to find a more effective and sustainable development direction for the Vietnam Ethnic Groups Culture and Tourism Village.
Chairman of the Hanoi Tourism Association Le Thanh Thao said that the Management Board of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village needs to have an open policy, cooperate with travel agencies to build new tours, and increase promotion to tourists.
According to Director of Thang Long Tours Company Nguyen Thanh Nga, the Management Board of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village needs to upgrade the quality of services, especially dining and shopping establishments, and improve the accommodation system to meet the needs of large groups who want to experience overnight stays.
Regarding this issue, Director of the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups Trinh Ngoc Chung shared that the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups is committed to continuing to accompany and support travel agencies in building creative tour programs, effectively exploiting the potential of the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, contributing to promoting tourism development.
According to the Department of Culture of Vietnam's Ethnic Groups, the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism will organize the event "Great Unity - Vietnam Cultural Heritage" Week from November 18 to 23 and put into operation the Lake on the Mountain and the Chan Doi restaurant. The unit will strengthen connections with travel agencies to introduce new programs and services at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, thereby affirming the important role of the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in the map of Vietnam's cultural tourism.
