Through the book “Renoir: Life and Works in 500 Images”, readers will see the life and career of the famous painter Renoir along the flow of painting history, with his position as one of the pioneers of the Impressionist school, opening the era of modern art.

“Renoir: Life and Works through 500 Images” is one of the few art books about Renoir published in Vietnam, with all the most famous works of the famous artist, as well as 500 beautiful illustrations of his life, home and family. The book is selected and divided into two parts: his life and living environment when he was young, with the opportunity to practice and learn the profession from which his career and style were shaped; and Renoir's painting career as it developed over time.

Pierre-Auguste Renoir was one of the pioneers of Impressionism with a career spanning over 60 years. Despite changing his style many times, he never strayed from his goals of creating images that celebrate beauty and happiness, and he remains one of the most beloved painters of all time.

Aside from Picasso, Renoir was perhaps the most prolific painter in history. During his long career, he created some 6,000 oil paintings, along with pastels, drawings, and sculptures.

Through the book “Renoir: Life and Works in 500 Images”, readers can contemplate the unique world of Renoir’s paintings, filled with light and cheerful colors of lush natural landscapes, of lush and fresh flower vases, or images of people interacting happily in natural settings or paintings of sexy and vibrant women, all in complete contrast to the reality of always searching for his own style, and the torment of rheumatoid arthritis and the loss of close friends that he had to endure.

Renoir has always been a major figure in art history, among the leading Impressionists, and one of the most widely understood and enduringly influential artists of the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Susie Hodge (born 27 November 1960) is an art historian, author, illustrator and journalist with over 100 books to her name. Hodge holds an MA in History of Art from Birkbeck College, University of London, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. She has collaborated with many prominent institutions such as the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Museum of London, the Tate Gallery and the Royal Academy of Arts on numerous publications, articles and courses in art history. Hodge has twice been named the number one art writer by The Independent.
