The entrance to the "Legendary Truong Son Road - Chi Huy Cave", this used to be the main warehouse in the middle of the majestic Truong Son.
Located in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, the tour "Legendary Truong Son Road - Chi Huy Cave" has just been added to the list of red addresses on the 20 Quyet Thang route, taking visitors back in time, reliving war memories with vivid real-life experiences.
Hang Chi Huy (Hang NH), located at km12, Road 20 Quyet Thang, was the “strategic logistics base” of Command 559 during the resistance war against the US. This is where officers and soldiers of Station 14 received and transported thousands of tons of goods, weapons, and food to support the southern battlefield.
With a length of 150m and a width of 100m, the cave has 7 large floors, converted into a warehouse for storing weapons and equipment, proving the creativity of our army and people.
Through the winding closed road (K road) under the dense forest canopy, visitors will relive the heroic years of the nation and explore the majestic beauty of the World Natural Heritage Phong Nha - Ke Bang.
On the way to the cave, visitors will admire the exhibition area of construction tools for opening the road 20 Quyet Thang, where rudimentary tools, equipment, and construction vehicles are displayed but contain the iron will of the soldiers, youth volunteers, frontline workers, and traffic workers.
In just 77 days and nights of non-stop construction, 8,000 people completed the 125km long road, connecting Phong Nha (Vietnam) to Lum Bum junction (Laos), breaking the monopoly and ensuring the smooth gateway of the strategic transport route to support the Ho Chi Minh trail.
Veterans and youth volunteers revisited the old construction. As the name suggests, Hang Chi Huy was only for commanders and was a first aid station, so many former youth volunteers only carried goods to the cave entrance, without the opportunity to go deeper inside.
The highlight of this tourist area is the Command Cave - NH General Warehouse, hidden among limestone mountains and covered by natural forests. For tourists, the tour is even more special because the Command Cave is also a special national monument, the command post of Military Station 14 of the Truong Son Army Corps.
According to veteran Do Anh Chien - who used to be a driver at this military station, NH cave was chosen based on the principle that "the most dangerous places are the safest". In addition, American planes wanting to attack this area would depart from the sea, but thanks to the Elephant Rock Mountains, the planes could not descend low to drop bombs. On the contrary, this terrain was a good condition for soldiers to build protective fences and shoot down planes.
Inside the cave, visitors can visit 7 floors with different functions, which used to be a place to store weapons, food... Although it has only been in operation for 3 years, the cave has been meticulously renovated by soldiers and youth volunteers to be spacious while still maintaining the wild beauty of a limestone cave.
The entire design of the cave has been kept almost intact to this day. Combined with the space displaying the relics of the soldiers, visitors can clearly feel the heroic atmosphere.
During the resistance war against the US, this place received and transported thousands of tons of goods, gasoline, weapons, and food to support the southern battlefield. The cave was also a field surgery station, treating wounded soldiers.
What makes the journey of discovery interesting is the 9D experience, with the feeling of being catalyzed in the driving experience area using 9D virtual reality technology. With the Zil-130 car model, visitors live the feeling of driving across Truong Son in the smoke, falling bombs, and exploding bullets.

In the cave is recreated the place where weapons, food... were stored to support the battlefield in the South.
The desk on the 4th floor is where the commander on duty coordinates the station's activities.
The 7th floor has the largest space, both a working and resting area for officers and soldiers.
