Using the mysterious tribe in the forest to "attract views"
During a recent trip to Indonesia, tourist Dara Tah, a famous Irish TikToker, decided to visit a tribe considered mysterious with very little information in Papua (part of the Indonesian territory on the island of New Guinea).

In the video, Dara Tah is seen traveling along the river in a wooden boat with a group of tourists and a local guide named Demi. On the shore, a group of mysterious tribesmen watch their every move.
As the boat approached the shore, a man from the tribe raised his bow and arrow and pointed it straight at the group of strangers.
"I think we are being used as targets for arrows," said a worried tourist in the group.
Tah described it as a giant bow and arrow, which could be life-threatening. The male TikToker then waved his hand, signaling that he had no bad intentions.
Next, the Irish tourist produced a packet of salt. He poured the grains into his hand and held it out to a man from the tribe. The man wore only a loincloth made from leaves and held a bow and arrow in his hand.

The tribe members expressed discomfort when tasting the salt (Photo: News).
But the "gift" immediately backfired. The tribesman tasted the salt, spat it out immediately, and looked visibly uncomfortable and wary, his hand tightening on his bow and arrow.
"It seems he doesn't like us. We have to leave now or it will be dangerous," said the tour guide.
Despite making the people in the tribe unhappy, Tah affirmed that he would return here soon with the reason of wanting to make friends.
To date, Tah's video has attracted nearly 20 million views. However, most of the criticism is that the male TikToker used the people of the tribe to "attract views" for personal gain and increase interactions when building the channel.
"Let them live in peace. You just invaded their land just to film a video, now you dare say they are a danger to themselves," a social media account said.
In addition, many people believe that Tah has misrepresented information about this tribe. They reacted when Tah implied that he had just come into contact with a "cannibal tribe".
"They are not cannibals, just tribesmen who are used to a peaceful life and should not be disturbed any further," one account commented.
It is not clear which tribes Tah's group came into contact with. Papua is estimated to have about 300 tribes.
Historically, some tribes, including the Korowai tribe in Papua, practiced ritual cannibalism. However, this gruesome tradition has all but disappeared since the mid-20th century after the government banned it due to concerns about the spread of degenerative brain disease.
Who is the controversial male TikToker?
Dara Tah is a content creator who aims to become "Ireland's biggest YouTuber ever". He often shares videos of himself exploring new places and people in dangerous situations.
Some of Tah's videos with a large number of views include "surviving on snake island" or "exploring the most dangerous island in the world".
Last April, an American male YouTuber was detained while trying to break into the island of a tribe described as "the most isolated in the world".
Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov, a 24-year-old American tourist, illegally entered the restricted North Sentinel Island, home to the Sentinelese tribe. According to Indian police, Polyakov set foot on the island to approach and film the isolated Sentinelese tribe. He brought with him a can of soft drink and a coconut as gifts.
Because of these actions, the male tourist was arrested by the police. Before his arrest, he was considered one of the famous YouTubers for his trips to the most dangerous places in the world.
