Along the coast from Pham Van Dong Street to Tran Phu Street, the rescue team of Nha Trang Bay Management Board has continuously broadcast warning announcements on loudspeakers, arranged forces to be on duty at the beach and posted warning signs in areas with big waves and strong currents in four languages: Vietnamese, English, Russian and Korean, to ensure the safety of tourists when participating in activities at sea.
However, many people and tourists, especially children, are still careless when swimming in the sea without wearing life jackets, forcing rescuers to regularly remind them.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Captain of the Rescue Team, Nha Trang Bay Management Board, said that the unit has assigned tasks and arranged forces to be on duty and patrol along the coast from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day, especially on days with rough seas, big waves, and murky water, to promptly remind, guide and handle arising situations.

“Since the beginning of October, the team has detected and promptly rescued many cases of people being hit by waves and drowning. Notably, on October 22, a 50-year-old Russian male tourist risked swimming in the sea despite the big waves, sometimes 1-2 meters high, and was then swept into deep water and drowned. Fortunately, people discovered it in time and rescue forces were present to rescue him,” said Mr. Hung.
Previously, rescue forces also continuously responded to many cases of people being hit by waves and swept away from shore, fortunately there were no human casualties.
Nha Trang Bay Management Board recommends that residents and tourists strictly follow warning signs and instructions from authorities to ensure safety when swimming and participating in activities at sea.
