Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Le Duc Luan emphasized that the project to invest in building the Examination Department - Bach Mai Hospital is a concrete step, demonstrating the determination of the health sector in modernizing the medical examination and treatment system, aiming to improve service quality, reduce overload, and increase patient satisfaction.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, said that this is one of the key projects in the hospital's strategy to modernize its medical infrastructure, aiming to further improve the quality of service and medical experience of the people.
According to the Director of Bach Mai Hospital, the hospital has gone through more than 110 years of formation and development, becoming one of the leading medical centers in Vietnam.
However, the current infrastructure, especially the medical examination building, was built many decades ago and is seriously degraded, no longer meeting the development requirements of modern medicine and the increasing need for medical examination and treatment of the people.
Every day, this facility regularly receives more than 4,000 inpatients and up to 10,000 outpatients. The approval of Bach Mai Hospital's Project to invest in the construction of a new Examination Department will create a civilized - friendly - effective medical examination and treatment space, contributing to the implementation of the policy of modernizing the Vietnamese health system in a synchronous, sustainable and patient-centered direction.
The Examination Department is built at the old building A of the Hospital, with a scale of 5 floors above ground, 1 attic, 3 basements, total floor area of over 18,000 m², meeting the scale of medical examination and treatment for about 5,000-7,000 visits/day.
The project is designed synchronously, fully integrating specialized clinics, testing areas, diagnostic imaging, reception areas and modern patient support services, applying smart technology in management and operation.
In addition to the main items, the project also includes modern auxiliary technical systems, such as transformer stations, generators, water supply and drainage systems, lighting, fire protection and infrastructure synchronously connected to the entire hospital campus.
The Director of Bach Mai Hospital committed to implementing the project on schedule, ensuring absolute quality and safety, to soon put the project into operation, serving the people of the whole country.
"When completed, the project will contribute to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, improving the working environment for medical staff, and reducing the load on existing treatment areas.
This is also a specific step in the digital transformation roadmap and smart hospital development, aiming to make Bach Mai a model hospital in the region," Associate Professor Co said.
The Examination Department project is an important part of the Bach Mai Hospital Development Project until 2030, in line with the Ministry of Health's orientation on building modern medical centers capable of meeting the comprehensive health care needs of the people.
